Greater than one weekIve had a wedge pillow for some time now. It was time to replace my old one. I got this, not sure if there were two sizes (the page shows two diff prices but no details on the higher priced item), but I got the lower priced item (the smaller item?). This thing is HUGE! The images show a woman sitting up and reading with the pillow upright and falling below her head. NOT! This thing extends about 6-10 inches above my head. I couldnt get my head above it if I tried. I wanted a 12 base. Thats about what my old one was. But because it was shorter, there was more of an angle, perfect! This one is so d long/tall, that there is hardly any angle to it when I am sitting up, rendering it useless. When lying down, with the pillow flat (thicker part at top of bed with LONG angled part under my body) it is just about impossible to lay on. I tried and tried to get my head towards the top, but my body is on the pillow and my head is about a foot from the top (thick part). So Im almost falling off my bed feet first. The angle is very subtle, which is ok when Im sleeping (and not using it for my back, like when reading), except for only being able to use the bottom foot or less and this thing taking up half my bed. I wish it was at least 6 shorter. I probably need two of wedges, one for sitting up and one for sleeping, but this particular one suits neither. And I paid almost $50 for this! :( I also saw a review where some guy was lying on it and said that he sunk into it (a good thing he says, and I agree), this one has no give whatsoever. It is as stiff as a board. I am 57 and weight in the high 100s, for your reference. And yes, there IS a layer of memory foam on top of the regular foam - which I dont like because memory foam is hard. I ended up cutting off 6 of this and it is better, but still, out of the box, it is huge.

> 3 dayI literally just got my pillow and first off theyre is no fowl odor at all, second of all it is not too big at all its just rite, it fits on my couch and even my recliner, the firmness is perfect and not too firm ,I feel much better going into my knee replacement revision surgery know I have this pillow when I come home , Im using it now before hand as well because I have no knee cap and need to stay elevated, this pillow just made my journey as more comfortable as it can anyways !!! I most definitely recommend buying one !!

> 3 dayI am recuperating from rotator cuff - trying to transition from recliner to bed/ bought this wedge- still does not help- it is too firm. I think I was misled by previous reviews. This wedge needs to be more malleable. Believe me- as a rotator cuff, bone spur, bicep tendon surgery patient/ I would not mislead you. Sleep is too valuable!

> 3 dayI bought the 12 inch wedge and its the perfect elevation to replace my stack of pillows. The new smell others have commented about is faint but, if you are sensitive to smells, you will want to air it out for a couple of days, per the instructions, before using it. In order to avoid sliding, I put a pillow at the bottom of the thinnest part of the wedge (opposite my head) and that works well. The wedge provides good support. It is not squishy but provides enough give to make side sleeping comfortable.

> 3 dayIt works ok, I up paid for the soft one. Not sure if I received the softer one. (No-where on the package indicated which one it was that I received) Very Firm- I slide off it easy. The material has a really rough feel to it. You cannot cover it due to the rubber grips on the back side- they wont work if covered. I kept it to lean against, but I cannot sleep on it like I hoped for.

> 3 dayI opened it. Popped right up. As soon as I cut the plastic the smell was horrible. The smell burned my eyes. I took the cover off and washed it, allowing it to air out but after 2 weeks it still smells and gives me a headache when I get close to the wedge. Updated** I will say the seller has reached out to figure out how to fix the smell after having the pillow for 3 weeks. It does say to air out the wedge for 2-4 days in a well ventilated area. I gave 2 stars originally but will change to 4 stars because the seller really is trying and helping through this issue.

> 3 dayI like the firmness of this for my upper back. I can side sleep it I put a pillow under my side to create space for my shoulder. I need another firm cushion to support my hips so I do not get too much arch in my back from the base of the cushion. The cover is a knit that is easily snagged.
