12 inch Cameo Cutting Mat

It took me one year to get this mat to be able to cut on without curling the paper. You need to do a whole lot more than just take a tshirt or sweatshirt and place it over the mat a few times. It is way tooooooo tacky. I cant believe this company hasnt redesigned these mats, seriously. I just gave up on using my machine because of this mat. It will still curl anything I cut but at least now if I use my Cricut spatula to release the paper from the mat I have a pretty good chance of being able to lift the cut image off the mat without curling. Forget about making cards on this thing, unless you want to try and iron your paper flat! Ive heard terrible things about the low tack version so Im not going to even bother. Have yet to try and use the Cricut mats on the Silhouette but bought some of those out of sheer frustration from this one.

The tackiness on this mat is perfect. Some new ones are so tacky that paper sticks to it so well that it will rip apart and ruin any attempts at completing a project. I keep the blue protective sheet around to keep the tacky part clean from debris when its not in use. But this mat is perfect!

I only need to buy 2 mats per year and I use them for a business. People tell me to get the knock offs or the Cricut mats but they never work for me. I will spend the money for this every time because they hold up for my sticker making and cardstock cutting.

The mat has greatly improved since the original Silhouette Cameo was released. Much thinner and easier to use. Definitely order a few a time (when prices drop).
