> 24 hourI was making a Medieval - themed chest that was going to take about 30 nails. No one mass-produces Medieval nails so they were more $ than the chest warranted. These worked nicely. Not a regular nail but not a $1.25 nail either. You need to chisel the countersinks: a round countersink with a rectangular nail looks cheesy. the thick taper on the head goes in a long way. If you turn the head with the long edge horizontal, the blade of the nail is also horizontal (duh). Now the nail is thinner. This thin nail lets you get closer to the edge of the wood without splitting the wood along the grain.

> 24 hourI had hoped the head on these were a bit bigger, crucial head, and they would hold the mats down on the barn, but they sorta did the job, but not really. I was also dismayed that one of the spikes bent. Mind you, we are pounding into millings, but some of the spikes werent up to task. At an angle, they held and will hold the mats in place, but with a bigger head, really would have done the trick. It was worth the shot and we cant hold the owners liable for testing. Sometimes, Amazon is good for testing theories.
