The replacement vapor pads fit my Generalaire, model 1042LH, whole house humidifier perfectly. The vapor pad packaging states that the vapor pad should be replaced each year. Ive included pictures showing the brand and model of whole house humidifier that I have. There are two metal knurled nuts that you have to take off so that you can replace the vapor pad. Ive included a picture of the two knurled nuts and a picture showing the threaded rod that the knurled nuts attach to. These knurled nuts can get away from you so be careful not to drop the knurled nuts as you take the knurled nuts off of the whole house humidifier. There are guide slots in the bottom drain pan and guide slots in the top pan that hold the vapor pad in place. Ive included a picture with arrows showing these guide slots. Ive found that I have to take the top pan off so that I can get the vapor pad in the guide slots correctly. There are two knurled nuts that hold the top pan in place as well. There is a whole house humidifier water fill pipe that you will have to lift up and move in order to take the top pan off of the whole house humidifier. Try not to break the water fill pipe as you’re pulling up on the water fill pipe. The water fill pipe will move just a little bit towards you, but not much, so be careful. If youre really patient you might be able to get the new vapor pad into the top pan without having to remove the top pan. I prefer to take the top pan off so I can be sure that Ive got the vapor pad inserted into the top pan correctly. I have a water shut-off valve on my humidifier water fill pipe, so I would turn off the water supply to the whole house humidifier water fill pipe just in case you break the water fill pipe. Im happy with my purchase of these vapor pads and would recommend these vapor pads to anyone that has the same brand and model of whole house humidifier.
