I got the brass set from the same brand/seller and it was very well done - I like these particular handy convenience sets because they include the smaller 1.5mm size. This stainless set is not quite as well done but yknow these are not precision ground rods. That said, most of the rods of all sizes were only about a thou undersized, some less than that, some a thou and a half, and all measured consistently along the length in two axes with a Starrett mike...straight, also. The oddballs in mine are the 5mm rods which are about 3 thou under, which is a big error but wont bother me for that size. Surface finish is fairly smooth but not as nicely or evenly polished as the brass, and several rods have tooling marks from the machinery used to guide and cut them to length (its not terrible though). The otherwise decent plastic case arrived splintered in this set (brass arrived fine), but thats amazons fault for frequently choosing dumb packaging. Havent done much grinding or cutting with these yet so hopefully the metal isnt full of voids and such but it looks ok on the outside (the brass was great in this aspect). Worth buying and having around. Itd be nice to see these in SAE sizes as well. And if you need precision sizing either turn it down or purchase more expensive round stock.

Wanted some rods around the house and saw these and purchased. Nice variety as a set.

these work great for PE bending tools and much more wallet friendly than vape coil mandrels . Would recommend highly , especially if you build ship models !

Less than half the rods seem like steel, less than half are ferrous/magnetic. I need it for hobby stuff, but, half the rods seem like steel, the other half is some nonferrous alloted thing

Only giving 4 stars, because while the contents are indeed as described, unfortunately they arrived all grouped together without any labeled. So I had to spend 5-10 minutes separating the different sizes and labeling each group of same thickness with a piece of tape and writing the thickness on that tape.

Id hope there would be more sizing differences instead of duplicates of sizes but still a bargain! Sharing with my school jewelry studio.

These rods are not the stated dimentions, they are undersized by .1mm. I was looking to get an interference fit, pressing them in a hole, they did not work.

I used these for some simple shafts and they worked well. They were straight. I didnt check the thickness as it wasnt necessary. I would purchase this again if I needed more for a simple project.
