The cable is well made and remains flexible in the cold. The tote bag and strap are handy for organizing all of your adapters and the microfiber is high quality. When all of the choices are around the same price the extras included with this one actually make it an easy choice.

This is a heavy duty plug and does what it is supposed to do. I won’t probably use it often but it’s a necessity to have one onboard and I feel better having it in my storage bay. It was a pleasant surprise to also get a light weight storage bag and a very nice microfiber cloth which is very thick and will be useful for polishing. Every RV’er should have one of these for those “just in case” situations.

I didn’t use this adapter for its intended purpose of connecting an RV to a residential 15a plug. I used it to connect an APC 3000XL UPS battery backup to a residential 30a plug. The battery backup has a NEMA L5-30P connector. This adapter allowed me to plug this into a residential outlet to test the UPS. As always when plugging something like this in you need to ensure that you don’t pull more amps that your circuit can handle. While one end of the cable is 30 amps, the other is 15 amps and you always work off of 80% of the lowest ampacity. So in this case 12 amps. The adapter worked great for my testing and I will get the proper plug installed now that I know the UPS is working. Also included with this adapter is a reusable carrying bag and a microfiber cloth. This is obviously more suited for the intended purpose when working with an RV. This is a well built adapter that should do what you need as long as you follow the electrical safety rules.

When first picking up the cord you can tell its heavy duty, definitely has a heft to it! I wanted this mainly because my adapter plug is inverted to most outlets, so my heavy 30amp cord wants to bend and kink - this item solves that issue. Very nice fit into other plugs - snug but not overly tight, making it easy to connect or disconnect. I especially like the handle to help pull the plug apart.

In case my 50A cord fails I can at least use this one anywhere there is 15A available as a backup. I also have a 50A to 30A adapter and a really long 30A extension cord. So when 50A is not needed, you dont need your hefty 50A cord at all. This one came with a bag that is large enough to hold all my dogbone cables, although a closure method would make it better.

Having a series of different plug in adapters is almost a necessity. Long ago I ended up at a camping site where I couldnt plug in. A trudge down to the camp store, I purchased an overpriced OK quality adaptor. It is best to be in the place of having what it takes to plug into whatever the campsite has. Or in this case, I can plug my trailer in at home. True, this will not be the full 30 amps, but at home Im not pulling that much power. It will allow me to check everything before I leave the driveway though. That is good and inexpensive piece of mind.

This adapter fits my RV trailer perfectly, and allows me to use an extension cord to plug in to my home electricity to keep things running while at home. It also has the threaded sheath to help keep out the elements from the connection. The household plug only carries half the current of the trailers 30a rating, so its important to be mindful about what youre running. It can, for example, run an air conditioner, or a water heater, but should not be used for both at the same time. Most of the time though, I just want the converter to stay online so the battery will be topped up when I need it, and this setup is more than enough for that.
