3M 048011-18730 3M-18730 Roloc Bristle Disc Grade-50, Size-2, Green

The price is daunting on these to be honest. As a service manager for a repair shop, I had never used bristle discs before but they just work. For areas of sensitive metals that cant be grinding down, this is great to remove RTV and gaskets without damaging the metal. It lasts a decent while as well. Dont be afraid of the price, it could save you an engine

Works well for removing automotive finishes and metal finishing!

First time I used one of these for cleaning the surfaces up on my engine to install new intake gaskets. Did very well cleaning off the old grime and gasket material. Just be careful to to apply too much pressure because it is aggressive enough to start removing some of the surface material. I think they could be a little better priced. I would have bought two if they were priced around $5-$6.

I was hesitant to buy these, never having tried them, but they work great. My unseated workspaces mean I clean up a lot of rust and these mean I don’t always have to totally refrained everything with various grits of flap wheel.

It’s not clear from the listing that there’s another piece you need to make this work. I assumed you could put this product in a drill but you can’t, you need a separately purchased mandrel to use it. The pictures only show the front so you can’t see that you need extra hardware. I was all ready to go and when I needed to use this product I couldn’t.

I recently tried a knock off from here on Amazon and the material. I don’t believe was even the same base material and it certainly didn’t work the same so far I haven’t found anything that truly compares to the three in brand green roloc emery discs.
