5-Inch 8-Hole Hook and Loop Sanding Discs 70 Pcs and Replacement Sander Pad Set, Compatible with Black & Decker RO 100, Part Number 380278-00

I thought I was going to have to buy a new sander, but this sander pad and sanding discs did the trick. I was really surprised at how many discs came with it. My sander was back up and running in no time. Ill have enough sanding discs to last a long, long time.

I bought this pad to replace the one on my black n decker, which it claimed to fit. However the b&d pad had a raised ring which spaced the pad from the guard, allowing the foam of pad to clear the plastic shroud. This pad has no such ring, but I was able to improvise by gluing four rubber gaskets (3/16 thick) above the screw holes. This has thrown off the balance a bit, and the sander suffers as the increased resistance has increased the slip in the differential. Even though the gaskets were easily twice the hieght of the original pads spacing ring, the pads blunt side profile still contacted the plastic shroud and had to be reshaped before the two components had adequate clearance. The sandpaper is cheap and will wear out quickly on the lower grits (40, 60, 80) but works adequately on the higher grits (160, 220, 600). HOWEVER, the paper is sized so that it has no overlap on the pad; you have to line it up perfectly or youll get little velcro scratches on your workpiece. Still, the sheer volume of sandpaper and range of grits you get for the price is impressive Tl,dr: you get what you pay for

This base plate/pad is nearly an exact replica of the OEM base plate/pad on my vintage RO100 orbital sander. This is not the replacement part number that B&D specifies for this sander, but I took a chance that it had to be close. Well, it is nearly identical. It fit onto the sander and operates perfectly. The included sanding discs were a bonus! So, bottom line for all you Do-It-Yourselfers is if you have an old sander of similar type to the RO100, you may find that this pad is a suitable replacement. It includes 4 screw holes, 4 alignment stub holes, and 8 vent holes. I bought another base plate/pad from another Amazon vendor. It too fit but I had to drill 4 small holes for the alignment stubs. Not a big deal, but this plate/pad already has all of the proper holes. Buy it! I cant really comment about reliability or longevity because I just bought it. Ill try to comment at a later date.

Same comments as the other 1-star reviews. I thought the others had just bought the wrong size or something. Nope. Fell apart after less than 5 minutes of use. Screw holes were melted right through. When I pulled the pad off of it to see what had happened, the Velcro started to tear off as well. I appreciate the fact that there were many sanding discs provided, but I purchased this to replace the Velcro on my sander so the discs are useless to me until I can get a replacement part that actually holds up.

So happy I didnt have to purchase a whole new sander! very pleased with the replacement.

These fit my old oscillating sander well, without having to change the base. The holes lined up and they come in a wide enough range of grit to be useful in my shop. They do tend to wear faster than the name brands, but thats to be expected from the price.

Product arrived in great time. Replacement was easy and away I go. After the 3rd use however. The sanding pad broke free of the mounting piece. May wanna get this type of replacement form somewhere else. I will see what the replacement piece does.

I am rarely disappointed by anything that I get from Amazon vendors, but this is one of those rare exceptions! Simply to put on (match the 4 holes and put the screws with washers back in the sander). The yellow plastic broke from the screws within 30 minutes. Extremely disappointed. I ordered a new sander (same one I was putting the disc holder on) and got it the next day. Too busy to mess with the one in need of a new disc holder.

The disc holder was broke in the very first use, it comes with a bunch of sand papers that works ok, but the disc is crap.

Fit my sander and I revived it next day! Also came with more than enough sanding discs.
