While I cannot attest to their absorbency yet, I will say they are softer and thicker than I anticipated. When I took them out of the package I thought I would buy these again as a gift. I dont always have that thought, so it counts for something.

> 24 hourReally wonderful burp cloths overall. Long enough to place over your shoulder. So so soft! I’ve bought other muslin burp cloths, and those are definitely not as soft. Just don’t place them in the drier, the inside cotton will bunch up at places and the burp cloth won’t be smooth as before!
