(500) Days of Summer [DVD] [2009]

I caught part of this movie on cable tv, became entranced and then bought it on Amazon instant video. LOVED IT. Rarely has a movie ever spoken so clearly to me before when I needed it. If you are getting over a bad break-up... get this movie!

15 minutes, 1 laugh!

this is probably one of the most realistic love stories i have ever seen. first off, you cant help but love zooey deschanel in anything she does. especially in this movie, where she plays summer finn, a realistic woman who doesnt believe in love, who thinks believing in love is like believing in santa claus. and then theres her better half, tom hensen, who never thought he would meet the one until summer came along.

A rom com that a man can enjoy, starring the multi-talented Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the annoyingly quirky but cute Zooey Deschanel. To me, this was the film that made me say this JGL is a STAR. If you dont love the Hall&Oates scene, you have no soul. Highly recommended.

Für mich gehört (500) Days of Summer ganz klar zu den TOP3 der besten Liebeskomödien, wobei man diesen Film eher als Independent-Liebesfilm ansehen sollte, da er nicht nach dem typischen Klische abläuft. Die beiden Hauptdarsteller sind ideal besetzt worden. Der Film kommt sehr kurzweilig rüber und weiß mit einem gewissen Charme zu unterhalten (zumindest Menschen, die dieses Filmgenre mögen).

LOVE.LOVE. LOVE this movie

Enjoyable but not that good! Easy viewing if you have a couple of hours to spare!

Although the first half of this movie is a bit dull and Joseph GL a bit lifeless, Im glad I stuck with it. It all comes together at the end in such a grand general statement about human relationships, it felt like an awakening. It is easy to put yourself in his place...after all who hasnt suffered in love. In the sulking phase of sour endings comes the contemplation of making sense of it, the whole point of this film. Being metaphorically slapped in the face makes you wonder why YOU were not the one, but alas, the finale may give you a little piece of mind ;)

More a relationship comedy than a romantic comedy, this story of unrequited love is hilarious, artsy, down-to-earth and thought-provoking all at onece. The cinematography is sweeping at times, and the acting feels real. Summers (Zooey Deschanel) breezy friends-with-benefits relationship with love-struck Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) made me wonder which part I played in some of my own relationships.
