My previous tamper served me for many years, and while I was very happy with that one for a long time this one is even better. It is two pieces of metal with large threads that make a very positive join when assembled. The machined face is very smooth, and I found it very effective at its job - tamping my grounds evenly and easily. I am very much looking forward to using this tool for many years.

I have the Breville Barista Pro which uses a 54 mm portafilter. As a former barista, I didnt have the highest hopes for the quality of hand tamp I was purchasing at this price but was very pleasantly surprised. It fits perfectly into the 54 mm portafilter and has a great weight to it which is important for hand tamps. Definitely recommend!

very heavy and expensive feeling but i was expecting the diameter to fit my portafilter better. it leaves 1-2mm of extra space on the sides so you need to scrape out the extra grounds

Bought this to replace my old one that came w/the espresso maker. This is way better and denser.

I bought this to crush nuts for baking…since then I’ve used it to pound chicken breasts, and crush garlic….since I don’t make espresso, I won’t be using it for its original purpose. On the plus side it’s a good looking, quality product.

This is a beautiful and solid tamper that I purchased from this small American company and it is a pleasure to use. Secondly, I made a mistake when I ordered this tamper and it came to me in the wrong size. Despite it being my fault this company helped me out in a very professional and generous way. They followed up with personal emails and went above and beyond in fixing MY mistake! They are one of those pleasant exceptions in an oftentimes frustrating customer service world. I would highly recommend this product and company.
