> 24 hourI have to admit I havent shopped for projectors for a while and I was stunned by how much they have dropped in price in the last 6 years... But I was still a little skeptical that you could get a great quality device for less than $150. I think the last projector I bought was closer to $1,000. Overall Im stunned by the quality and feature set of this device - at this price point! It really is stunningly bright, and light and portable. I purchased this for use in a neighborhood association clubhouse for our hybrid Zoom meetings where we get about 15 people in person in our 20-ft x 80-ft clubhouse. We keep the lights on during our meetings, so we needed a bright image so our in-person attendees could see both the remote Zoom attendees and any presentations that we need to share. The screen is mounted up relatively high, so that our board members can sit at a table under the projection screen (its above and behind them), and the projector sits about 12-ft in front of them. Keystone control is really important to us so we can angle the camera up so it doesnt blind our board members. This projector is really bright and totally clear during our evening meetings with the room lights on. The Keystone is controlled by a second dial near the focus ring, and like others have reported: It is kind of tricky to get both the keystone and focus just right. With a really aggressive keystone (because the projector is tilted UP at about a 30-degree angle) you do tend to end with really sharp focus in the middle of the screen and slightly out-of-focus at the top and bottom 10% of the image. This isnt a ding against this device though, just the reality of using it at a really steep angle. If we could mount it from the ceiling where its got a more direct straight-line from the projector to the screen that problem would be resolved. That said it was incredibly easy to setup, and its got a built-in speaker thats loud enough that when our remote Zoom attendees speak, everyone in the room can hear them great. I was super happy to discover that the projector has a tripod mounting hole in the bottom, so I was able to use an existing handy cam tripod with it. Once power is plugged in I project to it from my Windows PC wirelessly (including sound), so it only needs the one power cable. You can project from iOS phones and tables, Android Phones, Windows PCs and of course it supports HDMI cables and even legacy VGA if you need it. Another pleasant surprise is that it has IR receivers on both the front and back, so you can use the included remote to turn it off and on, and change any other setting no matter where you are in the room! Id absolutely buy this again for this use case.

> 24 hourOk so im editing my previous review. I was able to stream movies from Netflix and other apps after buying a Ruko firestick or whatever its called or apple tv or google stick. I ended up buying another screen (since the one it came with was made of a very thin fabric and not suitable for outdoors) and a ceiling mount and now everything is good. Fan is loud but its fine I guess. Customer service is amazing, they reached out after this review but i told them that i figured out a way to watch movies so I won’t be needing a refund. The projector is great. Im giving 2 stars because I can’t watch anything on it. Netflix/hulu and other streaming applications. I tried iPhone mirroring, av/hdmi cable, playing from the netflix site on MacBook and the screen turns dark as soon as i play anything. Unfortunately it’s useless if you’re planning to stream movies unless you have them download on your device. I’ll try some more and I’ll return and buy a smart projector if it still wont stream movies

> 24 hourThe image is a little clearer and it makes less fan noise than other projectors like this. A user friendly interface, easy set-up. Speakers work well. Its great for movies or watching TV.

> 24 hourGreat quality. But dont be misguided by the description like me by thinking you’ll be able to just connect your phone and project anything you want. N O . If you are purchasing to stream shows or movies please make sure to set aside an additional $50 for the adapter to connect to your phone or laptop. HDMI to adapter to phone. Also its better to not include a screen at all of its going to be that sheer honestly. Issues i have had is that after powering the projectors fan remains on as of it were to be on sounding loud but then i reboot and it fixes itself. Its been a few weeks and thing’s are ok.

> 24 hourI dont normally write reviews, but this is the best purchase Ive made and I get SO many compliments. Perfect for hosting with large crowds. I had a mini projector that I owned before this and it was terrible because the picture was blurry and there were grid lines, so I was extremely nervous to buy this one because it is about the same size and the cost seemed too good to be true. I was wrong! The picture is amazing and you can adjust the focus zoom/rotation to get it perfect whether the projector is up close to your wall or far away. I get so many compliments on my projector and everyone thinks its worth thousands because of how clear it is. The only cons for me is that the fan is somewhat loud when you turn it on, but not too bad once you have your movie playing and you barely notice it, and the sound is okay - but not great. I would recommend hooking it to a sound bar/speaker for the best experience. Fantastic for apple tv and video games. My husband hooks it up to his x-box and it works great. Best purchase of the year!!

> 24 hourLet me begin by saying that I was offered this product for free in exchange for writing a review on Amazon because I’ve bought a product from this company before and written a positive review about their product. This does not mean that either that review nor this one are not honest reviews; I’ve been satisfied with both products and reviewed them honestly based on my experience, which is not that of anyone who’s had experience with any other home projectors but that of someone who simply likes being able to view things on a big screen from time to time. I can also say that the service from the company remains very good; it’s not often that I can communicate with people from a company and get answers from them. And, then, with all that cleared up, I can honestly say that this version of the Dr. J projector is definitely better than the previous Dr. J professional projector. This is true in terms of the brightness and of the ability to connect wirelessly. The brightness is noticeably improved. I projected it outside around dusk side by side with my older projector and both my wife and I agreed it was very evident which had the brighter image. I won’t go into technical details on that, but it’s a noticeable difference. The wireless connectivity is a plus. I was not able to connect it to it with my Motorola phone, and that was frustrating, until I discovered the Motorola phones are made so that you cannot connect with Miracast, which is what the projector uses for Android and Windows products. So instead of being frustrated with the projector I’m now more frustrated with my Motorola phone. Other than that, I’ve been able to connect to it with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8” tablet, my somewhat old Ipod touch, and my Dell Latitude. The Galaxy Tab lags a bit, but I think that’s the tablet more than the projector as both the Ipod Touch (despite being older) and the Dell Latitude have very little lag if at all. While for all of the above reasons I can still give this product five stars based on its being better than what I’ve experienced in the past, the one thing I think can still be worked on is on making the entire image on the screen be in focus. If you try to have the center be in focus, then either the top or bottom margins will be blurry. This makes this projector not the best choice for watching films with subtitles or films that you want to have a clear image for (animated films like Miyazaki films, for example). But, overall, it’s a very fine product for viewing films outside, which is what I used to do with the previous Dr. J projector and what I look forward to doing with this new version even more. The stronger brightness means we can start even earlier! Overall, there may be other such projectors out there which I’m not aware of, but this one works very well indeed, and is very affordable.

> 24 hourAbout a week ago I had left a review for this product stating my displeasure due to a growing dark shadow over the bottom corner of the screen. The company has since reached out to me about the faulty projector and not only did they offer to replace it for no extra charge, but actually upgraded me to their newest model, only asking for a confirmation of my shipping information. I’m very happy with the new model and the excellent customer service so my new rating will reflect that.
