These bottles of dry dye just need to add water, shake and use. There are really not good directions for how to mix and use. So we had to just make it up as we went Along. Filled the bottles to the top, shake, tie shirt that was damp because the colors spread better that way, then left in plastic bag over night and rinsed and let hang dry in am. Came out great.

The headline says it all -- no instructions. There are illustrations and descriptions of how to fold a shirt or item for a particular pattern, but no further instruction about mixing the dye, preparing the shirts for the dye (do they need soaked in soda ash? Who knows with this kit!), or processing time following applying the dye (often 24 to 48 hours). It was a disappointing purchase. Luckily, I have been learning how to do this from someone who knows what they are doing. As the first kit I purchased to do this on my own rather than at a friends home, it leaves much to be desired.

Easy to use, just add water until you get the color you want. So far the color has held up. You may want to buy extra rubber bands though depending on the patterns you’re trying to make

This was perfect for our Girl Scout tie dye get together. We made 39 shirts ranging in size from adult small to 3x. The only thing I would change is add more rubber bands. We ran out in the middle of the process. Fortunately there was a store just down the street.

I’ve worked as a summer camp counsellor for many years and we always do tie dye. It’s such a pain to do a bulk load when you have to rinse the shirts out! I was doing tie dye with my after school program and needed to save money, so I got this instead of Tulip. I was able to dye 100 shirts (with young children!!!) with 3 kits and still have some left over! I soaked the shirts in soda ash prior to dying and there was almost no dye that came out while rinsing (only if the shirt had a lot of blue)—this saved so much time! The colours were more pastel than Tulip, but honestly everyone preferred it. Highly recommend and will definitely be purchasing again in the future! A few comments mentioned there were directions for the bottle, which is true. Just fill the bottle up to the top with cold water. For best results, let the dye sit in the bottle for 2-3 days, dye the shirts, and then let the shirts sit for 24 hours before removing rubber bands and washing! :)

Thought it would be a good art project to do with my twin boys. It was not too messy and make a good memory with my sons. And they would have a novelty keepsake to wear to school. Do some research there is a lot of prep work and get some extra shirts to try different designs. It is fun. But it takes a while to soak in pot ash and then let sit overnight to cure. Then after dying sit overnight again then wash so it is a 3 day process. 5 year olds are not that patient. .

Easy to use for beginners. A lot of product included. Enough for 3 sessions of 5 people. Great for all ages.

we used these for a tie dye party fundraiser for my foundation Maggies Mutts Foundation. Colors held fast even after washing if you let the ink set for 2-3 days. 1 day? not so much. Easy to use, screw top lids lets you store unused ink

This kit was so huge. I bought it to tye dye a king sized sheet and still had a lot left over to do more projects.
