8Bitdo SN30 2.4G Wireless Gamepad for Original SNES/SFC (SN Edition) - Super NES for PC

Works great, now I have the second player controller!

Looks and performs just like a original SNES controller. Finally something that isn’t flat out junk!

Was recommended this controller, and I was not disappointed. Might buy a second one the next chance I get.

I bought this item for use on a NTSC-U Super Nintendo and Nintendo Switch. I thought that this would work for that because it comes with a connector for the SNES and the From the manufacturer section said it was compatible with the Switch. (Hell, even the 8bitdo site says its compatible. When I received it I first tried to connect it to the Switch. But when I tried to use it on the Switch the controller couldnt be found. I figured it needed an update. I found the update for this exact model on the 8bitdo site, followed the exact instructions of the readme file (which on step 3 tells you to put it in upgrade mode), and updated the controller. Unfortunately, after the update the controller was still in upgrade mode. The manual didnt say how to take it out of this mode and nothing about it could be found on the 8bitdo site or any forums. Turns out there is no way to manually take it out of upgrade mode. The only way is to perform an update and have it be successful. If, for some reason, the controller does not have a successful update it cannot be taken out of this mode and thus cannot be used on any console. Straight out of the box I have had issues with this product with zero time where it has worked as desired. I have been communicating with 8bitdo to see how I can possibly get this taken care of. This issue is currently ongoing (as it has been for two days) but I have been notified by 8bitdo that this controller does not work with the Switch at all. The From the manufacturer section for this product is incorrect. Personal gripe: 8bitdo has different names for different products (ex. SN30, SN30 Pro, SN30 Pro+, etc.). But there are three different models of the basic SN30. Some are currently supported. Some are not. But there isnt a really good way to tell which model you have. Theyre all called SN30. Theyre told apart by their functions which isnt the easiest way to identify them. Why the hell cant 8bitdo call each generation of a model by a very clear number on both the product and the website? (ex. SN30 1, SN30 2, etc.) I have noticed from my other 8bitdo products that the newer, more complex devices are pretty great, but the older, simpler ones can sometimes be a real pain because of issues like this. Personally with the problems I have experienced, I would AVOID this controller. Get a newer model SN30 Pro (with Bluetooth) and newer model SNES adapter (with Bluetooth). Thats a bit more expensive but youll be MUCH better off.

This controller is fantastic. Ive been gaming on the Super Nintendo since it came out and this is the finest controller Ive used for the system. Not only is it wireless, with no lag that I can perceive, it also has the perfect d-pad, and a very affordable price! I dont write many reviews, but I had to show some love to a company that gets it right. Thanks 8bitdo, I wish you much success. P.S. Id love a GameCube controller with this d-pad.

PLAYING VIDEO GAME.

The SNES controller was actually pretty good for a while on USB, but it did not take long before the USB port became damaged. Judging by the reviews, Im sure that Im an outlier, but this is the first time a USB controller has become damaged in this way. Like I said, while it was working, the controller was great; however, only getting a month and change out of it only made the quality more disappointing.

Works as intended! would actually buy another one! Feels a bit, just a little bit heavier than the original. The buttons are very similar to the originals as well. There isn’t any lag on the buttons or connections either. Time to save the princess now!
