> 3 dayGood: - Feels familiar - Button press is generally good (except as noted below) - Connection is very stable (except as noted below) Bad: - #1 gripe: often when using the D-pad, it unexpectedly hits Down while Im pressing Forward, causing me to abruptly stop or fall out of swings in Mario Maker. I end up having to hold Up+Right instead of just Right so that this wont happen, which of course causes me to grab vines or enter doors. - Needs to be re-synced a couple of times per week - If you have large hands, triggers may feel cramped compared to other controllers like PS4 - Cant wake up Switch with controller (I know, this is a Switch problem, but I absolutely guarantee I will drop everything and buy the first aftermarket controller I see that finds a way to do this) Changes that would be nice: - fix the random down button presses - find a way to wake up the Switch from the controller - additional color schemes would be nice

> 3 dayPros -It syncs incredibly well after initial pairing. Hold Y+Start to pair with switch. -The form factor really takes me back to being a kid again hanging out at my best friends grandmas house playing some Super Mario World into the wee hours of the morning. -The buttons are super clicky (this helps with knowing for sure you hit an input.) -Its fully featured for switch with gyro and vibrate. There is no NFC, so you will need to use your joycons or a pro controller from Nintendo. - The battery life is incredible. Ive had it for around 5 months and I have had to charge it literally 10 times. I stream roughly 10 hours a weekend. -The comfort of it is oddly great. The joysticks are a little cramped but function really well for Smash Bros and other analog based games. -The triggers are clicky and intuitive to use. -I can sit 10 feet away from my switch in my bed and still have no problem with the signal. Cons -Can have some inaccurate dpad inputs without simple modding -Can become uncomfortable after several hours if you have large hands -Cant wake switch. (No 3rd party controllers can) -Syncing on old firmware was spotty at best. (firmware update greatly helped) -Analog sticks can stick in corner at first. I found mine to fix themselves after several hours of use. I am a small-time Super Mario Maker streamer on twitch. I use this controller almost exclusively. Out the box, this d-pad needs some work. It really favors up and down when pressing left and right. To fix this, I used my toolkit and some hole reinforcements (can buy at any office store), and I opened the controller. I placed these reinforcements around the sensors under the dpad. This made it so the inputs would be far less likely to travel from left or right to an up or down. My advice to 8Bitdo is to make these sensors smaller. This would prevent the accidental inputs from happening with this d-pad. I own 3 8Bitdo controllers and I love this brand. The m30 has the best dpad of any controller I HAVE EVER USED. My favorite controller, the sn30 pro+ suffered from the dpad issue as well, but far less prevalent than this controller. So that is my only caveat out of the way. Here is what I like about this controller when using it with my switch. Overall, I highly recommend this controller. If youre going to play something that requires precise dpad movements, be prepared to follow a guide on how to cover part of the sensor up. I am sure there is someone who thought of my method with a guide somewhere on the internet. I DO NOT, IN ANYWAY, RECOMMEND YOU TAKE APART YOUR CONTROLLER (this is what I did to fix it and if you do not know what you are doing, you could damage the ribbon cables inside.) A casual user will have no qualms with this controller. Mario maker Kaizo players will need to be prepared to do the above mentioned mod. I do not think its a defect. Its a design that causes these inputs to happen. So buy it, I promise you will not regret it. I knocked a star because of the cons I have listed, but I truly love this controller.

> 3 dayIf youre looking for an easy to use controller then this is the one! Its design is simple enough with a heavy dose of nostalgia. Highly recommend to anyone gaming on the go or if you just enjoy toned down simplicity like me. I pair mine with my Galaxy tab lite. Functionality works well with emulators. Gets the job done and leaves you with those reminiscent feelings from childhood. Enjoy!

> 3 dayI’m using this remote to play my switch and the functionality is awesome. the retro design is comfortable and feels like an actual snes remote which had me feeling very nostalgic. the only thing that bums me out about the remote itself is that I have to manually connect it every time I turn my system on. it isn’t automatically paired. seems like a pretty bunk thing to have to do but once you get past that its all breezy. don’t know why one option is cheaper than the other but they function the same way. I think.

> 3 dayIf you dont have larger than Normal size hands then its great. Ive heard people say that large handed people get hand cramps without the handles (like most modern controllers have) but I have average size hands for a man and have never had hand cramps even with long play sessions. I love this controller. I like how it feels in my hands and the click of the buttons. This version has convex buttons which is good for rapidly switching from button to button. It is my go-to controller for my gaming laptop. From DOOM to witcher 3, and assassins creed, I have no complaints. Vibration is great, not too loud or strong, controls are responsive and not touchy or laggy, triggers are good and feel distinct so that you can easily switch from trigger to bumper without issue. The sticks are as good as xbox controllers, and it connects very easily to pc, and android. I didnt try a switch or iOS, but I understand it works on those also. Long battery life too, days. I love the retro aspect, but I really like that it easily fits In my laptop bag.

> 3 dayAbsolutely great controller. However, I wont recommend it for playing competitive Splatoon. In the Splatoon scene, Nintendos Pro Controller (Switch) is known to have the left stick wear off and malfunction. Some players look out for third party controllers with a better left stick. With this 8bitdo controller you can play well Splatoon with motion controls and rumble. Theres no difference with a Nintendo Pro Controller in that regard. Unfortunately, the 8bitdo controller is really tiny and the lack of handles make your wrists to go on a painful angle. The button layout in the 8bitdo controller is also different from the Pro Controller and for high level Splatoon is not good. For example, to superjump to the spawn or any other teammate you have to reach the D-Pad on top in a way you dont accidentally touch the left stick. Its really tricky to do it. Also the D-Pad on top makes it hard to swim and press Ouch or Booyah simultaneously. Its really simple to do it on a Pro Controller but not with the 8bitdo one
