> 3 dayI bought this controller on a chance it would work with iOS + Minecraft based on some other reports on the internet. I wanted a smaller controller for Minecraft that would work better for my kids small hands. I can confirm that it pairs through the normal game controller method on iPad OS 14 (not using the Accessibility method, but the normal method of going through the main Bluetooth menu). It reads as a PS DualShock. Gameplay was perfect in Minecraft. The X/Y and A/B labels are swapped on this controller vs their positions on my XBox One controller that I personally use with iOS/Minecraft, but the functions are positionally equivalent. For example, B on my XBox One exits menus and crouches, while the button in the equivalent position on this SN30 Pro may be labeled A but performs the same function. Same goes for all buttons (positionally the same). If you dont like this, the Minecraft settings let you swap the functionality to match the button labels (for those with cognitive rigidity and no care for actual gameplay optimization). Its very light and the thumb stick positions are very optimal for my 3.5 year olds hands. I played with it too for a test session and found it very nice. I prefer the Xbox One for my adult-sized hands (ergonomically better) but I will be stealing this controller if I ever go on a work trip again as its so small and light (COVID will end someday).

> 3 dayWorks well with most games without having to configure anything, A few games you have to fiddle with to get it to register this controller exists. Having the type of Charger cord to recharge its has batteries is also a good combination. Would recommend this Controller for anyone who tired of wired controllers or need a new non wired controller.

> 3 dayFirst of all Ive always been into 8bitdos products but recently I decided to look into getting a few of these NEWER controllers. I just have to say that the quality is excellent! And the performance is top notch it was so good I had to purchase a second controller. The dpad is great and perfect for emulation. I use these on my PC and Im loving it.

> 3 dayThe description states that this is a fully featured controller with rumble and motion controls. I have tried this controller with two android apps (both of which recognize rumble on a Sony dual shock 4) and niether app could find rumble on this controller. I also couldnt find any motion controls either. Now it may be that this controller only supports these features for the Nintendo Switch. If that is the case, then the description needs to be updated to reflect that. I have other 8bitdo controllers and they are all 5 star controllers. I would have rated this one 5 stars too had it not been for the missing features. The other small thing of note is that this controller doesnt have analogue triggers. The Xbox cloud variant of this controller does. If you are looking for the best available controller for Android, you should go for the Xbox cloud version instead of this one.

> 3 dayAbsolutely great controller. However, I wont recommend it for playing competitive Splatoon. In the Splatoon scene, Nintendos Pro Controller (Switch) is known to have the left stick wear off and malfunction. Some players look out for third party controllers with a better left stick. With this 8bitdo controller you can play well Splatoon with motion controls and rumble. Theres no difference with a Nintendo Pro Controller in that regard. Unfortunately, the 8bitdo controller is really tiny and the lack of handles make your wrists to go on a painful angle. The button layout in the 8bitdo controller is also different from the Pro Controller and for high level Splatoon is not good. For example, to superjump to the spawn or any other teammate you have to reach the D-Pad on top in a way you dont accidentally touch the left stick. Its really tricky to do it. Also the D-Pad on top makes it hard to swim and press Ouch or Booyah simultaneously. Its really simple to do it on a Pro Controller but not with the 8bitdo one

> 3 dayIts a very well-done clone of an SNES controller, that much I will say and I commend them for getting the feel right. The analog sticks are useless most of the time. Its not that theyre terrible, in fact they are suitable in terms of quality. The issue being they are unnecessary for this type of controller which is aimed at 2D games and the like. Theyre in the way and using them just isnt as enjoyable as a modern controller. On paper it sounds like the perfect SNES controller, but in the end its just an added feature that doesnt offer much to the player. Lots of creators recommend these and owning one right now, I can say you can do better. A proper 2D experience can be had with modern controllers, just focus on the shape of the D-pad and its placement. I wouldnt even recommend this for 2D games personally which is what its made for. The D-pad is stiff, and if you were to play a game like Street Fighter where diagonals are essential then, this one just isnt that good. Im not even kidding, I could pivot much easier on the Switchs Joycon 4-button d-pad easily, but the SN30 just makes it frustrating sometimes. Controller is also really LOUD. If I were to play a game like Hades in the other room, you would be able to hear the clicks and clacks of me smashing the face buttons. This is not ideal in some households, just a tip. Shoulder buttons feel good, not as much input range as joycons L and R but still good. ZL and ZR are strange to press. Just doesnt feel quite right. Would I recommend these after using them? If it were 2020 then sure. But now in 2023 and moving forward? No. Controllers have since gotten better and more intricate. Spending $50 on the SN30 Pro is not ideal and your money is better spent on a better quality controller. Splurge another $20 and get a more premium controller. The only thing keeping this controller afloat is pure nostalgia. Its not very comfortable and brings more negatives than positives, but the homage to the SNES is still a nice touch.
