> 3 dayI love 8bitdo and their products, ive wanted this controller for a long time and i am happy that i bought it. Randomly the d pad doesnt work however which is super disappointing considering the price. the other (very minor) complaint is that my tablet recognizes the controller as a playstation controller so it cannot be used correctly as a snes controller

> 3 dayI saw the control on a YouTube video and I really like how it looked like a retro style controller. So I decided to buy one. And I absolutely do not regret. It’s easy to pair and the battery last quite long.

> 3 dayIf you dont have larger than Normal size hands then its great. Ive heard people say that large handed people get hand cramps without the handles (like most modern controllers have) but I have average size hands for a man and have never had hand cramps even with long play sessions. I love this controller. I like how it feels in my hands and the click of the buttons. This version has convex buttons which is good for rapidly switching from button to button. It is my go-to controller for my gaming laptop. From DOOM to witcher 3, and assassins creed, I have no complaints. Vibration is great, not too loud or strong, controls are responsive and not touchy or laggy, triggers are good and feel distinct so that you can easily switch from trigger to bumper without issue. The sticks are as good as xbox controllers, and it connects very easily to pc, and android. I didnt try a switch or iOS, but I understand it works on those also. Long battery life too, days. I love the retro aspect, but I really like that it easily fits In my laptop bag.

> 3 dayThis controller is well built, even though it doesnt pair easily with my Switch console. It requires holding down the start button and the Y button to begin the pairing sequence and then a click of a small button at the top of the controller to confirm the Bluetooth connection. It also cannot wake up the Switch from sleep. That said, I dont overly fault 3rd party integration into Nintendo products, as it may be difficult from an engineering perspective.

> 3 daybig enough for my average sized man-hands. controller is responsive (havent noticed any lag). ive played a few games using it, on switch and pc, and everything works fine. the impressive thing is the multiple connectivity options. has 4 different modes you can change that connect to different devices. very clever. (sticker on the back tells you how to pick each one). though big enough, the ergonomics could be slightly improved, though it would sacrifice some of the retro feel, i think slightly lowering the l2/r2 buttons would help make holding it feel a bit more steady. as is, its a great little thing. super handy. easy to travel with. nice battery life. it even connected to my iphone without hassle. highly reccomend.

> 3 dayPros -It syncs incredibly well after initial pairing. Hold Y+Start to pair with switch. -The form factor really takes me back to being a kid again hanging out at my best friends grandmas house playing some Super Mario World into the wee hours of the morning. -The buttons are super clicky (this helps with knowing for sure you hit an input.) -Its fully featured for switch with gyro and vibrate. There is no NFC, so you will need to use your joycons or a pro controller from Nintendo. - The battery life is incredible. Ive had it for around 5 months and I have had to charge it literally 10 times. I stream roughly 10 hours a weekend. -The comfort of it is oddly great. The joysticks are a little cramped but function really well for Smash Bros and other analog based games. -The triggers are clicky and intuitive to use. -I can sit 10 feet away from my switch in my bed and still have no problem with the signal. Cons -Can have some inaccurate dpad inputs without simple modding -Can become uncomfortable after several hours if you have large hands -Cant wake switch. (No 3rd party controllers can) -Syncing on old firmware was spotty at best. (firmware update greatly helped) -Analog sticks can stick in corner at first. I found mine to fix themselves after several hours of use. I am a small-time Super Mario Maker streamer on twitch. I use this controller almost exclusively. Out the box, this d-pad needs some work. It really favors up and down when pressing left and right. To fix this, I used my toolkit and some hole reinforcements (can buy at any office store), and I opened the controller. I placed these reinforcements around the sensors under the dpad. This made it so the inputs would be far less likely to travel from left or right to an up or down. My advice to 8Bitdo is to make these sensors smaller. This would prevent the accidental inputs from happening with this d-pad. I own 3 8Bitdo controllers and I love this brand. The m30 has the best dpad of any controller I HAVE EVER USED. My favorite controller, the sn30 pro+ suffered from the dpad issue as well, but far less prevalent than this controller. So that is my only caveat out of the way. Here is what I like about this controller when using it with my switch. Overall, I highly recommend this controller. If youre going to play something that requires precise dpad movements, be prepared to follow a guide on how to cover part of the sensor up. I am sure there is someone who thought of my method with a guide somewhere on the internet. I DO NOT, IN ANYWAY, RECOMMEND YOU TAKE APART YOUR CONTROLLER (this is what I did to fix it and if you do not know what you are doing, you could damage the ribbon cables inside.) A casual user will have no qualms with this controller. Mario maker Kaizo players will need to be prepared to do the above mentioned mod. I do not think its a defect. Its a design that causes these inputs to happen. So buy it, I promise you will not regret it. I knocked a star because of the cons I have listed, but I truly love this controller.

> 3 dayI love this controller. Its absolutely awesome. I was kind of nervous, since $45 is a lot more money than Id want to spend on a modified SNES controller, but, wow, this product really amazed me. Its sort of uncomfortable if you use the thumbsticks heavily, but, I mainly use this for retro gaming, and they arent painful, it just takes a little getting used to, and if thats something thats important to you, they make a model with hand grips. The setup was easy, although I couldnt get the software from their website to update the controller firmware, it worked out of the box, alls i had to do is pair it to my Macbook Pro, and it immediately worked with my emulator (OpenEmu for mac). If any of you are curious, it registers as a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller under the software, and just Pro Controller under the bluetooth menu. I really love this controller, and I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys a retro game every now and then, its also cheaper than your average console controller, at only $45. I will be updating my review should I have to contact customer service or if anything goes wrong. Pros: -Clicky thumbsticks. -D-pad feels quality and like a real Super Nintendo controller. -Came charged, and battery has remained at full bars after on and off usage. -Uses USB type-C for charging. (Yay!) -Came the next day -Wireless Cons: -Joysticks are in a playstation orientation (Really is a preference.) -Software from their website isnt robust, and I couldnt get the drivers to update, controller still works fine though. (I was using a mac so that may be why, even though its listed as supported.) -Select and start buttons arent centered, theyre slightly to the left.
