This provides protection to the hair and allows me to brush right through my horses mane and tail in a few pulls. Theres a rumor out there that this product weakens hair and causes it to break. Ive never found that to be true. Show sheen allows me to brush less. Ive found its the brushing that pulls and breaks more hair. I always keep the tail washed and clean every few weeks. In-between washes, this product keeps it swizzle and snarl free.

This is a staple in any barn. Even if you arent showing horses, it helps get tangles out of manes and tails, and shines up the coat. But dont use it under the saddle or other tack, or on any part of the horse where you want to hold on! Its slick.

I first tried this product in a smaller size. It worked well enough that I just purchased the gallon size. We have a curly haired dog who likes to swim and play fetch in our swimming pool multiple times a day. During this corona virus event her coat has grown quite long. The ShowSheen has enabled me to tackle matts on her legs and behind her ears. I am using it as a leave-in conditioner as well. Her coat looks nice and she enjoys our daily brushing sessions.

I have a white horse. A 2000 pounds, 18.5 hands, a dappled grey going-white-with-age Shire gelding, with lovely full feathers, and a full mane and tail. We use this stuff, a lot. A gallon will last about a year, unless it is particularly rainy and muddy that year. And then I have a very large brownish horse who is so happy when he plays in the mud. <sigh> If you have a white horse, you get this. Your mileage may vary, but Showsheen is necessary at our barn. This is a good value for the money, and it does the job.

I have been using show sheen on my horses and dogs for over 30 years and I have yet to find anything that de-tangles and polishes the coat better, especially after a bath.
