> 24 hourI love this monitor. It’s a huge upgrade from my last one (both picture quality and Hz). The only complaint I have is with the stand. I saw people in the reviews complaining about its size, but I thought they were just being dramatic. Trust me, this stand is huge lol. Though, at least you have the reassurance that it ain’t gonna be tipping over any time soon. I’d recommend it, but just make sure you’re not someone that sits too close to the monitor, because the stand will be pressing against your keyboard

> 24 hourHands down, this is the best display I have ever owned. Playing MGSV and Fallout 4 is blazing fast and beautiful. I can definitely tell the difference from 60 Hz to 144 Hz, and I havent even tried overclocking to 165 Hz. Response time is also quick at 4 ms. The colors are phenomenal thanks to the IPS display. there is just no comparison after coming from my old Samsung 40. However, make sure to adjust the default settings, as it can be really bright at first. I have a 980ti so I can make use of the built in G-Sync and there is zero screen tearing, even with V-Sync off. G-Sync is supposed to have less input lag than V-Sync, so this is a plus. I guess a con would be you cant take advantage of this with AMD cards. The stand is really nice. It looks much better than in the picture. It also feels very sturdy. Be aware though, you can lower the screen really low so that it stands 15.8 above the desk, but the stand itself will stick out at about 16.8, barely clearing the roof of my desk at 17. I also like that it includes built in speakers; not great, as this monitor should be used with a good pair of headphones, but the speakers are useful when sharing the screen. And then theres the imperfections, which are glaring considering the price tag. My display has a dead pixel just right of center. I know this is within normal limits, but its really frustrating. Moreover, there is significant backlight bleed at the bottom right corner (see pic), which is apparently common with this model. The on screen display (OSD) is very clunky, but after a few mishaps, I got used to it. Weirdly enough, the power button gets stuck and it takes a few presses (sometimes 3) to register; turned off deep sleep and that seems to have helped. TL;DR, I absolutely love this monitor, but Im currently torn whether to keep it or return it. Again, the issues are minor but when youre paying this much for a 27, you expect the best build quality possible.

> 24 hourIve been using two 24 Asus TN monitors for the last couple of years. While they have been sufficient for my tasks, I wanted to upgrade to an IPS panel. After reading many reviews and watching countless youtube videos regarding the build quality and back light bleed, I was very very apprehensive about making this purchase. Boy do I feel foolish as this monitor is beautiful. The back light bleed (blb) is a non-issue. There is an ever so slight glow in the top right corner, but that is it. My room has to be pitch dark to even pick it up. I wanted to comment on that issue in case there are any others out there who are considering this monitor and are worried about the blb. Im sure I had some luck involved in getting a good panel, but Im very satisfied. Seemingly much like the rest of the community that is in the market for this monitor, I also found myself looking at the MG279q from Asus. They have the same panel. Obviously, I decided on the Acer version. Tbh the only reason I decided to purchase the Acer was because of the price difference. I like the look of the MG279q from Asus more, but I just couldnt justify the price difference. The experience on this monitor so far has been top notch. There is a obvious improvement in the screen resolution and color rendering. The blacks are more black, the screen is more clear, and images just seem to pop. Going from a 1 ms TN panel to a 4 ms IPS is not noticeable. I play Apex and Destiny 2 and the experience has been wonderful so far. The games look so much better on the IPS display. Set-up took less than a minute with assembling the stand and fixing it to the monitor. In summary, if you are considering this monitor and have the money, dont hesitate. If you get a bad panel, Im sure Amazons FANTASTIC return policy will work out for you.

> 24 hourIve read many reviews pointing out how the buyer received a faulty monitor and had to return, with some even saying that they received 2-3 faulty monitors before finally getting a working product. It may just be luck, but Im happy to report I have none of the problems that are mentioned in other reviews. I even expected a little back bleed and/or ips glow, knowing that both are common with IPS monitors, but was surprised to see that neither are a problem, and can honestly say that with my naked eyes I cant see any back bleed at all, even in a black screen with the brightness cranked. I must point out though that Ive only owned the monitor for about a month and a half, so time will tell if the quality will degrade or not. As for the monitor itself, it is without a doubt, the nicest monitor Ive ever owned. Coming from a 1080p TN panel, the jump in color/picture accuracy asking with the jump in resolution was instantly noticeable, and is still impressive close to 2 months later. I bought this monitor while playing through Blood and Wine, and the look of the new bloom in Touissant was at best annoying, at worst downright ugly on my 144hz 1080p BenQ monitor, when compared to the base game. I couldnt understand how anybody could think it was beautiful, and for some, more-so than the base game. But then I got this monitor. Holy hell I had no idea what I was missing. The beauty of that game is completely wasted on a TN panel, and 1080p for that matter. The same is true for every other game Ive tested since getting this monitor. Using DSR to scale up to higher resolutions can help image quality, but is nowhere near as good as the real thing, not even close. TL;DR - Bottom line: if you can afford it, stop thinking about it, but it. I cant speak for those who received a faulty product, but with a perfect condition monitor, theres no way you wont be impressed. > 24 hourIve had an Asus PA248Q for years and decided it was time to enjoy G-Sync. I was set on an Acer but kept going back and forth between the X34, XB271HU and XB321HK. After playing with an XB271HU in MicroCenter, I decided against 4k/60hz since the 144Hz made a huge difference in perceived motion. My XB271HU arrived from Amazon yesterday. The Mfr. date is March 2016. I have a monitor arm on my desk so I didnt try the included stand at all. Ive only played around in Rocket League and Crysis 2 so far (havent installed C3 yet) but the difference is stark in my eyes and Im really enjoying the fluidity. I checked immediately for dead pixels and got worried when I saw a small black spot in the top-left, but I was able to scrape whatever it was off. Now the BLB...theres some in the corners, especially the bottom-right. Having dealt with it on my Asus though, I already understand the drawbacks of IPS panels and Im confident that I will not notice it in 95% of applications. I think people are really sensitive about BLB because they spend lots of $$$ and want perfection, but until OLED or something similar comes down in price, you have to try and focus on the positives. I know I can live with it and I dont think playing the return lottery is worth the trouble. It doesnt feel a lot bigger than my PA248Q, but thats possibly because the XB271HU has such a thin bezel? Regardless, the pixel density is awesome and makes everything seem sharper. I would prefer if it had a slight curve, since I find myself having to move my head a bit to read text in the corners, but the benefits hugely outweigh all the little things I dont love (like navigating the OSD...ugh). One G-Sync issue (or maybe just confusion on my part) is that Ive set v-sync off in the control panel, but it keeps re-enabling itself somehow. I suspect it happened when I went into my games that previously had it enabled, so now that Ive disabled it in the games, Im hoping I wont encounter it again. Back to Rocket League!

> 24 hourUpdate 2/17/18: I found a dead pixel I missed. Going to exchange this for another one. Fingers crossed. Predator 1440p 27 IPS - Amazing monitor! Im not an expert on monitors at all. In fact, ive only bought one other monitor for gaming and it was a much cheaper $200 monitor which this replaced. My previous monitor was a 1ms 60hz 1080p and did what it could very well for its time. I did a lot of research on going to 1440p and what response times, refresh rates and TN vs IPS means. I found most reviews for IPS monitors saying its a roll of the dice since the quality control isnt where it should be, which could result in multiple returns until you got a good monitor. The first monitor i received was perfect out of the box. No dead pixels and I dont see any back light bleed (BLB). Granted im not an expert on monitors, so i could be missing the BLB but i just know i have zero complaints about the picture. I did have to look up best settings because out of the box the picture was clearly wrong and from my research I had learned that I should only use that as a starting point because every monitor is different and each persons perception and preference is different. So I had my starting point and adjusted until everything looks close to perfect for me. My only complaint about the monitor is the controls for the on screen display. They are ok and get the job done, but there is a lot of room for improvement. But since the setup is done, the only time I use those controls is to change my input from DP to HDMI, which isnt as easy as it should be, but it does the job (shouldnt take 4-5 button pushes to change between only two inputs). Pros: Colors - Holy hell do the colors look amazing on IPS, I dont think ill ever willingly go back to TN (just my preference) Refresh rate G-Sync - This is something I wont be able to live without in the future as long as I have NVIDIA GPUs 1440p - I can definitely see the increase in clarity from 1080p Cons: Only 2 inputs Controls - OSD controls are mediocre and annoying to toggle between only 2 inputs If you are buying this for gaming and want to know how my GPU handles the upgrade to 1440. I currently have an MSI GTX 970 (not over-clocked). Games like GTA V, Tomb Raider (2013) and Hitman Absolution look amazing and run at 50-60fps on 1440p and almost maxed out on settings. I tried running Witcher 3 and even had to dial back some graphics settings from the NVIDIA Experience recommended settings to get it to run at 50-60fps. Witcher 3 looks beyond amazing, but I do still get a little stutter when running and turning my character. Ive yet to try anything else, but Im assuming any newer AAA titles might need to have settings lowered or run on 1080p for them to run well. Hoping to upgrade to the next generation of NVIDIA cards once they come out, to really get the benefit of this monitor. Also, I havent played much of my PS4 (launch day version) on this, but the little I did looked great. TLDR: If you are in the market for a 1440p that looks amazing, i would highly recommend this monitor. If you will be switching between inputs multiple times a day though, the controls on this might frustrate you.

> 24 hourThis is a fantastic gaming monitor. I had a ten year old Dell that was a great monitor for its time, but was getting old and the backlight was getting splotchy. I tried the PG268Q. It had an intolerable, absurd amount of vertical gamma shift. I had the BenQ XL2420G, which was good for its time, but is still small, 1080p, and washed out, dull TN color. Tried the XB270HU which was pretty good but had a little backlight bleed, so I returned it. Tried the XR341CK...even got an AMD video card!...and it was GORGEOUS, but 75hz is just too slow for gaming. Its even too slow for internet video, I realized. 75hz syncs with nothing and 2016 is not the time to be running a new headline PC monitor at 60hz. Got this and my search is over. Looked at the Asus, but my experience with their video cards and routers has turned me off. The quality control is gone, their products are garbage now. You can read the reviews of the PG279Q and see for yourself. This monitor though, is pixel perfect. Nothing dead or stuck. $800 is way too much to pay for a monitor with such pathetic problems. I have no, NO backlight bleed. There is some silvery IPS glow, but that seems to be inevitable with IPS panels now, which is odd because my 10 year old Dell didnt do that, apparently they used to use a filter to stop that, but it adds a lot to the cost so they dont do it anymore. Wish they did, Id definitely throw down another 100-200 for that filter. The color is great. I set mine to sRGB mode and turned the brightness down from 80 to 35 and Im pretty happy with it. I think the XR341CK had the edge on color, but this is a GAMING monitor, it needs the responsiveness too. Definitely beats out any TN panel all day long by a huge margin, though. The pixel transition time seems to be slightly better than the 270HU was, which is good, and the new bezel and stand are big improvements. The red stand looks better in person, and so does the bezel too. I have a big center channel speaker so the split foot is a welcome update. Quick tip, I run my desktop at 120hz, I believe it syncs better with 24hz and 30hz video that way. Run games at 144hz and use the MSI Afterburner software to cap FPS at 144hz to avoid having Vsync kick in, even at 144hz I find the added input lag of Vsync intolerable. Put 27 inches, good color, and 144hz without tearing together, and you have something that in BF4, CS:GO, and GTA Online (Im a sucker for the open world), is almost like cheating. Compared to a 24 inch TN panel I can easily tell the increased ability to see and shoot players online first, and it looks gorgeous to boot.
