My husband uses this almost every day to protect the wooden surface of his desk. Its not a slippery matt so if small items like tiny screws or other parts fall onto the matt, they dont just roll or skid off. Its pretty well made and it does see daily use and has held up very well. From my perspective, I love it since it means he isnt scratching or staining the desk hes using as a work bench. So its working for both of us.

I’ve been using the same tired gun cleaning mat on my gunsmithing bench for several years, and I’ve since added another bench and needed another mat. This mat is great because of its large size. Curiously, the box it came in indicated it is a chair mat, I guess the manufacturer is doing double-duty with this mat. The 17”x48” mat is huge compared to my old rifle mat, and I will likely be cutting it into two parts to make both a rifle mat, as well as a pistol mat that I can take to the range. Comparing it to my old mat, it is a tad thicker, but made of three layers instead of two like my old mat. My old mat has the top fabric, and then a neoprene like layer beneath it. This mat has the same type of fabric for the top layer and mid layer, and then a burly no-skid brown checkered layer on the bottom. I don’t see it as being any better or worse than my old mat in terms of function. Although the top layer is not the traditional black, it will make it easier to see small springs or screws, which has sometimes been a problem with my old mat. If you’re looking for a decent gun cleaning mat at a good price that is generously sized, I recommend picking this one up.

This mat is great for protecting your table from any oil or cleaning solvents that may spill or splash when cleaning your guns. It is large enough to cover the entire area under many rifles.

The AiBOB Gun Cleaning Mat for Handgun, Shotgun and Rifle is attractive and offers excellent protection for both guns and the workbench top. It is advertised as washable. I have not had an opportunity to wash it yet. I removed the mat from the box and it laid down on the bench perfectly. I highly recommend this bench mat.

I am not a gun aficionado. I simply needed a mat to clean my handgun after weekly range use. The towel I had been using had saturated and smelled heavily of solvent. This mat works for my purpose. It doesnt take up a huge amount of space, seems to absorb the solvent and oils well, and provides a relatively non-slick surface.
