> 24 hourSo far I’ve had this projector for a few months. I’ve found it EXTREMELY useful since we have all sorts of different rooms in my house, and we like to change locations where we chill for the evening. I use it for displaying my workouts (Ring Fit and Yoga) and occasionally gaming, and on a few circumstances as a monitor for my computer. A few things I would recommend: make sure you have the right lighting. During the daytime, I found that reducing sunlight was best when projecting on a darker painted wall. On a lighter painted wall, I was able to see the image just fine with a room that was lit with afternoon light, but not pouring with bright sunlight. White background is ideal. It also depended on the device I used and what the image contained. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while playing in the daytime mode in the game and in a darker room, was great. Playing anytime during the nighttime mode was a little tougher to see. Some games that required you to read smaller text, like Don’t Starve, weren’t as successful because certain texts became harder to read on the projector. I’ve used all sorts of different devices via the HDMI connection (even PS2, GameCube, and Wii) and had fun briefly displaying them with success, but haven’t done full gaming experiences with them just yet. I found that overall, displaying bigger text is ideal for the projector. The HDMI connection is the best mode of connection, in my opinion. I tried the AirPlay mode once or twice and both times needed to set up the internet and haven’t done it again since then. As a portable battery and its travel size, I also like it a TON. Ive used it on different kinds of tripods as well. When I rated this, I wanted to give more of a 4.5 overall because of its usefulness, its travel size, and...well, its really cool to have a pocket projector thats the size of my iPhone. However, my standards for picture quality are not as high as others. If you buy, just be aware of what to expect. It works best under certain conditions and with certain images. My boyfriend is a photographer and video editor, so his standards for display quality are VERY high (always wanting to see movies in IMAX or 4K, looking at quality of the picture, etc.), so he would personally not use this projector as much as I do. It had its moments of imperfections, which I think generally are meant for an actual television screen, and those imperfections are forgivable for the other nifty things its capable of. Its definitely useful in situations where you dont want to lug an entire television down the stairs or to different rooms if you want changes of scenery in the house or need to travel to a different location outside of the house and cant plug into a display of the sort wherever you end up. This purchase will definitely depend on your preferences and how much you think you will end up using the pocket projector. For how often I use it, I think Ive made it worth its price.

> 24 hourThere is a lot of great things about this product which I’ll discuss below; however, two critical flaws. First, no matter what method of display, light colors are vibrant; however, anything dark shows up almost black. For example, pictures of my family that look fine (and well lit) on my laptop, iPhone or storage media. However, when displayed on this projector, anything that is dark or a shadow turns up basically black. Faces are unrecognizable. When I play videos (YouTube, Apple music videos, etc.), anything dark is unrecognizable. I have tried every projector setting, different computers, blue ray players, cellular phones and tablets as well as different HDMI cables. The problem is clearly the projector. The next major problem is it will not play videos hard wired via HDMI from Netflix or Amazon Prime from my iPhone. You either receive an error that it can’t be played back (Netflix) or on Prime it just resets and takes you back to the main projector menu. Before people start trying to second guess this, I purchased this as a replacement for my Miroir MP 30 which is at least three or four years old. I can simply disconnect the HDMI cable from the AKASO and use the same iPhone or device, and cables, etc. and connect to the Miroir and both Amazon Prime and Netflix stream and they play perfectly (and with proper color, dark regions are not black and unrecognizable). Again, the problem is clearly the AKASO projector. If you go to the AKASO web site, you’ll be surprised to see that their projectors are not even listed as a product category. If you look hard enough, you can find it under, get this, “Consumer Electronics” -> “EQUIPMENTS” -> SPORTS AND OUTDOORS. There is no user manual, only a link to the Quick Reference Guide. The FAQ link takes you to their Support page; however, again the Projector isn’t even listed as a product. I did call customer support, and they answered immediately (they appear to be in Rockville, MD). Unfortunately, while they were they trying to be helpful, they had no idea. For example, the projector’s menu has an option to upgrade the firmware via USB or WiFi. There is no update listed on the website, and they didn’t even know there was a menu option for it. They even stated they were not sure the firmware could be updated (even though there is a menu option to do so). They simply have probably never even touched the device. They suggested I email my questions to Customer Service (which is who I called by the way). The connect to WiFi network option never works. It lists available wifi spots, you select the SSID enter the password and…nothing. It just takes you back to the previous menu. No status indication if you’ve successfully connected. I’ve tried using several wifi networks. Doesn’t seem to work or function in any way. Not that this is different they using EZCast. The speaker functions, but the sound level is very low. You’ll need an external speaker for anything other than a almost zero noise environment, GOOD: --------- When I first turned the project on, I was amazed at the clarity and brightness of the menu (white background, lite colored menu icons). However, once I started using it it became clear there was a serious problem with anything dark. To the point of being almost unusable. The Quick Start Guide is actually not bad at all, there just apparently isn’t an actual user manual. The EZWire connection option (phones to USB port on projector) worked wonderfully. However, NetFlix and Amazon Prime won’t stream. Screen sharing works fine; with the caveat about dark colors. The EZCast (which uses the projector’s built in WiFi) also worked wonderfully. As clearly stated in the product descriptions, Netflix and similar services cannot be streamed using this method. To stream Neflix, etc. they direct you to use a direct HDMI connection; however, as previously indicated above it does not work. Ignoring videos and images that are too dark to even recognized, the pure black and white aspects are very sharp. For example, reading a email (white background with black text) is razor sharp. Very sensitive and accurate manual focus by the way. The mini tripod is nice. Easily adjustable, and the three legs actually extend out an extra couple of inches which is nice. , Of note, the Projector is elongated and the screw mount is up front. You’ll have to position the tripod’s legs so it won’t fall over. The Automatic Keystone Correction works great, and you can switch to manual mode if needed. The Remote also works great. Note that it doesn’t come with the two AAA batteries required, and it is IR so you have to point at the back of the projector where the IR sensor is. The Battery did last about two hours In summary, this almost like a forgotten and/or unsupported device by AKASO. Depending on your use, this might be a great projector; however, for me the problem with streaming service playback combined with anything even remotely dark makes it unusable

> 24 hourI chose this projector to use for decorating cookies. So far it’s been impressive. The picture quality is so much clearer than priors I have used and I love the wireless option using Wi-Fi.

> 24 hourI use this projector for cookie decorating. The brightness is great and its fairly easy to use. I had one problem and contacted the company and they were very helpful. I also have a Pico projector which is great but the Asako Focus has a clearer, brighter picture.

> 24 hourMy husband bought this for my birthday to use when decorating cookies. Its compact so very easy to move out of the way if needed. It comes with a 2 year warranty and a full sized HDMI. I told him I thought I wanted this projector specifically and he surprised me. Im loving it.

> 24 hourI like everything about this projector... except for 2 things. I still cant connect it to my android wirelessly. It only connects to the iPhone. Also, Im using it for cookies, but if you try to point it straight down, the image comes out angled. The images Im trying to copy end up looking bigger on top and smaller on the bottom. If I had known this, I would have tried to find a different projector to buy.

> 24 hourWish I would of done a bit more research. The image is distorted and angled bigger at on end. (Trapezoid) so it’s useless for decorating cookies. Now I’m stuck with it. Also, hard to use.

> 24 hour***I am updating this review as I DID hear back from AKASO. They were very helpful and gracious, got a refund in full (I had already purchased another projector because I needed to). Much appreciated. Original Review: I have had this exactly 5 months and it just died. Right in the middle of a large cookie order. It was wonky for a bit, (sounds like an airplane taking off sometimes...) but then it just croaked. Isnt projecting anything. I have reached out to customer support, but havent heard back in days. Not a happy camper. Just know that if you but this, it works great until it doesnt.
