Great keyboard, BUT, I wish it would have shipped with a T key instead of two R’s!

I used to use the Logitech G815 and that was my main keyboard for 2 years. I experimented around with some ducky keyboards but I ended up hating them all. This keyboard however, exceeds my expectations. I was already used to the low profile switches and the super sensitive travel so everything was already easy for me. The thing that sets the AW510k from the Logitech is the switches. Logitech uses their own switches while AW uses Cherry Reds and I think they are superior in terms for feel and sound in my opinion. This keyboard is a lot more compact and also doesnt have any redundant features while still remaining full sized. The build quality is super clean and I wasnt expecting much from the RGB but it blew me away as well. The only thing that I hate on this board is the volume wheel on the top right, when you roll it, it makes this weird clicking sound and has feedback to it while the Logitechs was very smooth but I bet I would just get used to it anyways. Overall this is going to be my go-to keyboard for the next couple of years and if they ever release a new model that has similar features, Id probably upgrade.

I’ve always gamed on my Alienware laptop using its built-in keyboard and a wired mouse, so I’m used to membrane keys. I bought a regular gaming mechanical keyboard and the throw of the keys felt waaaaaaayyy too long. I couldn’t type on it either, I kept fumbling around the keys. I replaced that keyboard with this one, because of the short throw keys (and it looks cool and matches my laptop) and I love it!!! The volume scroll is a must in my opinion, and the lights are really fun. My only gripe is that I wish it had those programmable keys on the left side of the keyboard that my laptop keyboard has. Feels super sturdy and it looks like you could jump start a car with the wire (it’s thick). I would recommend this to someone that’s used to gaming/typing on laptop keys or similar and is wanting to get into mechanical keyboards.

material is just standard plastic and gets dirty insanely easily. volume control can be difficult to reach but ultimately it is a great keyboard and easy to use, very nice looking. and keys can be removed easily by hand to clean under and go stable back on, the volume key on mine is loose for some reason though but no matter.

So far I’m very happy with this keyboard. I first purchased another, compact rgb keyboard but I didn’t realize how heavily I rely on the number pad. Doh! I’m not a gamer but I bought an Alienware laptop for graphic work. This keyboard integrates seamlessly with the pre-installed command center so that was not an issue for me. The keyboard is SO much quieter than the other mechanical keyboard. It has such a soft, pleasant, tactile stroke, I almost wish for more work. I’m hoping for a type heavy project soon! On my desk, it sits behind my Wacom and the one doesn’t interfere with the other (but then I’ve been doing this for so many years, I may be subconsciously adjusting my hands). My work area is pretty dark so I’m grateful for the rgb lighting. It was easy to program- and I only change the color of the number keys from everything else. BIG CON: it has two (2) usb plugs!! It’s the only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5. Fortunately, I’ve just bought a good dock that supports 3 USB ports. The alienware m15 has 3 USB ports (I think), but I like my station to be portable without too much plugging and unplugging. Since I leave the keyboard (and big Wacom and big external monitor) at home, the docker is a saving grace. EDIT: changing to 5 stars. I didn’t realize there is an additional USB port on the keyboard and that is the reason for the additional plug. Love this! And I like Alienware. I’ve been using dell products for 15 years and I’m happy I discovered this in their lineup.

This keyboard is amazing! Love it to death. Prior to this purchase I had a rather nice and expensive Razer mechanical keyboard. Dont get me wrong - Razer makes AWESOME products and all that but for my tastes A MECHANICAL KEYBOARD (NOT THIS KEYBOARD) IS TOO LOUD. FAR TOO LOUD. I type extremely fast and the clack clack clack of a mechanical keyboard sounds like tossing a ball bearing into a paper shredding. Dont ask me how I know. THIS keyboard has a shorter key stroke, quietly operating key engagement, on-keyboard volume control with mute, well lit keys and the standard layout that I, as a gamer, have come to expect. BUY THIS KEYBOARD NOW!!!! OMG I love this thing and Im not being paid or endorsed by anyone to leave this review. Seriously, I can type at 100+ wpm and still actually hear the video that Im watching. LOVE IT. Soooo smooth and looks amazing to boot. The only downside to it is that it does not come with a padded wrist rest which I come to expect with a keyboard of this price but I already have one and Im using it now. This does not take away from the rating of the keyboard itself, nor do I feel that it detracts from the value of this keyboard for the money. If you do not possess very good control of your typing (mainly in the form of intentional key strokes) then you will likely find this keyboard too sensitive. But I absolutely ADORE THIS KEYBOARD!!!
