Amazon Basics 3 Speed Box Fan, 20-Inch

im hoping to reduce a/c cost this summer. so far in june and may a/c days are 0. not dreading the bill next month. good for a small apt.

Received on 03/30/2023 Its 05/28/2023! It just stop working! Unplug it & moved it to sweep & Moo & plugged it back in & no longer will come on! It was not dirty, as it was dusted off with a paint brush & a damp wash cloth! Its quieter than other box fans, which I liked, however, it does not have the air flow, the other box fans have either!!! I definitely will not purchase another for $40! Its not worth it & you can not simply take apart, if you wanted to, to clean in a high dust environment!!! With lasko box fans, 6-screws to each side, pop blade off, wash it all, while the casing with motor with a damp wash cloth & use a paint brush to dust off motor & put it back together!!!

Started squeaking after a week. Still squeaks occasionally despite a deep cleaning. I don’t recommend it. The Hurricane box fan has been holding up though. Spend the extra unless this is for a space you’re not regularly in or a garage where the ambient sound level is higher.

This fan is just perfect for my needs. I love box fans. Im a child of the 70s when only the rich had AC. We had box fans. The sound of a box fan is relaxing to me and helps me sleep. This fan with its 3 speeds is perfect. It circulates the air nicely and has that perfect box sound I enjoy, which is not loud, just perfect for a box fan. It fits inside a window perfect and will bring that wonderful fall air in. The fan also looks great. Love the black. Thanks Amazon, I will be purchasing 2 more!!

Do not like. Noisy and CHEAP feeling.

I finally found a fan that has just the right amount of noise. I have tinnitus in my right ear and Ive gone through SO many fans. I buy them, I give then away. Every fan always has some click or noise quirk that makes my tinnitus worse. This fan has a solid, sound of air. Just the sound of air and no mechanical/machine sound. Its perfect on all 3 speeds. I actually came on here to order another one, but it says currently unavailable. Ill wait until its available before I buy another one. Also, I like the black color. And the legs are better than other fans. They are wide and screw in so its sturdy. The grip handle is good design as well.

We hit some extremely hot days so an fan was needed to replace my now non-working one. I chose his one honestly mostly out of frustration. The box fan is about 90% plastic except for I guess the motor . Making it VERY lightweight and fairly quiet.3 fan speeds all move the air well, the highest speed is where I generally keep it except at night when I sleep. For my small studio apartment it serves me well. Only negatives are the lightweight construction -the feet are about 6 1/2 inch plastic snap-on pieces which doesnt balance the fan well tipping over is a common problem. That coupled with the bad design decision of running the power cord out of the top rear corner adds to the problem. This is an okay fan I guess for maybe workshops, teens rooms but definitely not for hardcore heat situations. As far as cost its definitely not worth the money I paid for it.
