> 24 hourThis has one thing that I require in all of my tape measures. Standard and Metric measurements. My shop has dozens of measuring instruments for standard, even though almost everything we work on is metric.

> 24 hourIf you are looking for a good quality, affordable tape measure, give the AmazonBasics a try. It isnt flashy like my chrome silver Stanley, but its build quality is solid, it operates smoothly and I like the option of two different buttons to retract the tape. Im not sure I care for the carrying strap, but if you like tape measures with straps then it would be a good feature. Overall a solidly built and works perfectly for my needs. Definitely worth a look if you are in the market for a new tape measure.

> 24 hourI have never had a self-locking measuring tape, and now I dont understand why they arent the standard. It makes it SO EASY to measure things by myself. I just moved and Ive been heavily using this tape measure these last couple of weeks and its worked great. Sometimes it seems like it gets a little stuck when retracting it, but its not a big deal -- I just pull it out a little and re-retract. Ill never go back to a measuring tape without the self-locking feature.

> 24 hourThis is a 33 foot/ 10 m tape measure. It is self-locking and has both a thumb button and another button underneath for your finger to release it- either button works making it very convenient to adjust the tape or retract it no matter how you are holding it. The case has a metal belt clip on it and seems to be made of a sturdy plastic. Easy to read tape in inches and cm with stud marks are present at 16 intervals. The tape has about 8 of standout before it bends or bows to the side. The only cons I can see are: There is no roman numeral marking on the blade to denote accuracy and while the description states MID accuracy- there is no CE mark on the blade indicating confirmation to MID. This is probably not a big deal to the average user, but for a contractor or professional, it could be an issue. Overall, it is a nice product that seems comparable to more well known name brands for basic use in the home or DIY project.

> 24 hourGetting this thing to retract takes an act of congress. Returned it the same day it arrived.

> 24 hourSo far so good. Feels very sturdy. I needed a new measuring tape for everyday projects and have used this a handful of times in a couple of days. Will update if it breaks or if something goes wrong but it seems fine and the price isnt bad for the length.
