We got these tape measures which are perfect for most home owners. They would make great gifts for young people just starting out or for a spare to keep on in garage and one in the house.

There are some household essentials you can never have too many of...the list includes scissors, rolls of packing tape, and tape measures. This AmazonBasics 2-pack is a set of two 25’ tape measures. These units are sturdy, with large and clear readouts. The tapes measure in both inches and metric and it’s super easy to decipher measurements, even from some distance. On these models, instead of a dampener button there is a release button. The tape stays extended until you push the button. There is also a small button on the underside that releases the tape as well. The casing is a solid plastic, with a small metal clasp and a mediocre plastic wrist band. Weight is on the heavier side at 13 oz. Of note: AmazonBasics sells a similar tape measure as a stand-alone product (with a dampener button as opposed to a release button) that is a step up in quality.

So what we have here is a basic, every day, tape measure. Color scheme is standard. Theres really not much to say here (partly, its hard to write a review without a product page to tie it to. Most notably I have NO idea how much it costs).

This tape measure locks in place and is easy to read. Could not ask for anything more.

Measuring tape retracted exactly once, then the lock feature broke and the tape got stuck out.

The AmazonBasics line of products offer generic items with good functionality at low prices, and these (identical) tape measures fit the bill.

NIce matches set of tapes. Good for 2 man framing jobs where mixed tapes might cause issues. Many do not realize tape brands are different at times. The little strap is useless actually would probably be int he way but easily removed. The nice DUAL lock release is actually a nice feature not seen before. Dual as in released from 1 of 2 triggers. The downside to this tape is the tape ribbon, appears to be cheap quality thin guage, can only extend about 6 before it collapses. Most 25 ft tapes will easily go 8-10 before the same happens. For this reason the 4 star. otherwise nice set. cant cost compare as no price provided on the product.

The tape measure itself is fine. The clip is completely worthless on the 10 m version. See the pictures of the clip attached. The recessed portion of the tape measure design does not allow the clip to engage on my pocket. It takes two hands to get the clip to clip on my pocket. Its like they designed the body without the clip in mind. I bent the lip up a little bit so it will engage on my pocket one time out of five with one hand. It is fine for measuring, but completely useless unless you always have two hands when you want to clip it to your pocket.
