You can never have enough tape measures running around. Somehow they always seem to disappear when you need one. The self locking feature caught me off guard at first, since normally you have to lock the tape measure in place. Not so with these. These automatically lock in place and you have to press the button on the front or the one underneath to release the lock. The self locking feature holds in place really well, but the release buttons are a little wonky; they work but not consistently.

It works really well. Seems pretty sturdy. I like having metric on one side.

AmazonBasics makes plenty of fairly priced comparison products and this self-locking tape measure is another in their product line.

First: The strap is ridiculously inflexible and is constantly in the way.

I like this tape from AmazonBasics as it hits everything I look for in a tape measure. A good tape measure is one of those simple things and basic thing to have around the house. I’m always misplacing mine so this 2 pack is a good addition to have in the basement workspace and the kitchen tool drawer.

Lets hope the heavier than expected weight translates in extra durability

This is a 33 foot/ 10 m tape measure. It is self-locking and has both a thumb button and another button underneath for your finger to release it- either button works making it very convenient to adjust the tape or retract it no matter how you are holding it. The case has a metal belt clip on it and seems to be made of a sturdy plastic. Easy to read tape in inches and cm with stud marks are present at 16 intervals. The tape has about 8 of standout before it bends or bows to the side. The only cons I can see are: There is no roman numeral marking on the blade to denote accuracy and while the description states MID accuracy- there is no CE mark on the blade indicating confirmation to MID. This is probably not a big deal to the average user, but for a contractor or professional, it could be an issue. Overall, it is a nice product that seems comparable to more well known name brands for basic use in the home or DIY project.

Simple strong tape measure. Nothing fancy and it gets the job done for the right price.
