I love the look of this riser. It goes perfectly with my faux-wood desktop with black metal edges. It is a sleek design, and it securely seats my large monitor. I love that I can re-claim desk space by placing my paper planner-calendar beneath.

This is a nice and sturdy shelf. Very easy to put together, just 4 allen screws that go into metal inserts that have already been put into the bottom of the shelf. Thats a nice extra touch so you dont strip the screws going directly into the wood. I know they are designed to raise your monitor off your desk, and would work fine for that. I have a desktop mount arms mount for my two monitors, so I am using it to put my desktop computer on to keep it off the floor. Gives you a nice 4 inches or so lift, and is plenty sturdy for either purpose. The wood shelf feels heavy and doesnt seem like pressboard at all.
