my original charger was so cheaply made that the plastic covering crumbled away from the wire. Since I did not report it ( A lesson there) for 13 months I had to buy a new one to replace the original substandard one.

what can I say? If you own a Kindle and lose your power cord, a new one is a necessity. Amazon was super about getting this replacement to me in record time.

Had to replace my wifes power adapter, after traveling, because some idiot made it in 2 parts. Only way to replace was to buy both parts. Not a very happy camper because of this design flaw!!!!! My wife likes the kindle, but feels we got ripped off with the design of the power adapter.

This product does exactly what is is supposed to without having to break the bank! I can now charge my Kindle 4 quickly when Im on the road in a motel, without having to drag along my laptop, or without having to park out by the motel computer.

The replacement Kindle charger I ordered from Amazon was the exact same cord I had received with my original Kindle. My original cord had been broken at the Kindle end and also had a few breaks in the cord where it got mashed. Taking care of the cord will keep me from having to order another one, athough Amazon is amazing and got my order to me quickly.

I dont know if it is the weather but the encasement for the power adapter cord that came with my Kindle had disintegrated to the point I had more cord casing on the floor than on the cord. I requested a replacement and it arrived as expected. It has been just over a month and no signs of deterioration with this new cord.
