Excellent alternative to the i5 8400. Single core performance not quite as good but barely noticeable, multi core performance is superb. Get it at the right price and this is a fantastic CPU. Stock cooler is a bit, well, rubbish. Just about passable for stock speed but recommend you get a decent cooler especially if you plan to overclock. Paired this with 16gb 3000mhz ram and an RTX2060 and this is perfect for 1080 gaming on max settings.

Bought this processor as a replacement for my old i5-2400. Granted, I also needed to get an AM4 chip-compatible mobo and DDR4 RAM for said mobo, but it was most definitely a worthwhile investment. Ive seen so far a marked improvement in framerates and load times of my games.

Product was New but arrived previously used and repackaged. The normally pre-applied thermal paste was removed and had obviously been used and cleaned off. 2 pins were also bent and had to be bent to fit in the socket properly. Should have gotten a replacement but didnt have time.
