AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

First time building a pc from scratch with new parts this is really fast.

I am using ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming. At first, I updated to the most recent BIOS, 4602, and the system did not boot. So I downgraded the BIOS to 4502 and it works! Hope this helps out

Arrived damaged (in a damaged box) and when I returned it the next day, the price had risen £10.00 or so and therefore I had to pay for it again while I waited for my refund instead of being offered a replacement. Very very very frustrating.

As someone who has been built Intel systems for over 20 years, I tried to build an AMD system for the first time. I did all my research and the motherboard I bought claimed it was compatible out of the box with Zen 3 CPUs. But after much frustration it turns out it was not and the only solution is to buy another previous generation CPU to upgrade the firmware to use this CPU. AMD and ASUS tech support were no help so I wasted $400 on this useless system unless I buy an second CPU to fix this. I regret ever buying AMD and will stick with Intel in the future.

Now that this processor is being sold for less than 100 more than the 5600x, its a no-brainer. It is well worth the little extra money youd put to it!

Exactly what you should except from a mid-high-end CPU, run well and loads well, but is very very hot, I place my hand over the computers exhausts every now and then and it is like a little heater, to the point where I leave it on some days, and it offsets the rooms A/C. Especially on high performance applications. But now I have no worry when I want to run ultra-settings on most games 2022 and back. Still not cutting edge to the point that you could run ultra-settings and ray tracing and all that on the newest games. I have a 3080 12 gb Nvidia based graphics card.

Der Prozessor läuft und wurde vom System erkannt. Windows musste neu aktiviert werden. Aber es funktioniert gut. Achtung beim Kühler. Der Prozessor ist ein Hitzkopf. Ich habe Dark Rock Slim ohne Übertaktung. Der Prozessor bleibt Kühler als beim Wraith prism Kühler. Obwohl ich ihn schöner fand wegen der RGB Beleuchtung.

Edit 03/12/21: Price is nearly $90 less now than when it was a month ago.
