Im an artist and I rely on these paints. Sure theyre not the thickest on the market, but you can go back adding layers which looks really nice actually. Experiencing an upswing in productivity since covid. I know I can make any other colors from the basic set. Great price and received them super-fast!

I bought these paints to paint my grad cap & I really like them! The cap started as burgundy & ended up pink & black. The black, blue & magenta are very opaque but the yellow & white are pretty sheer.

Good pigment. The white and black was most used with my needs. Its expensive tho.

    Not a primary red.

Please dont listen to the reviews giving low marks because these arent primary colors. They actually are. Primary cyan and primary magenta are far superior primary colors compared to the usual red and blue. I tested this out when I received my paint. I put the same amount of cyan and magenta and made a beautiful purple and then I did the same with red and blue from artist loft paint and guess what they definitely did NOT make purple. It was a muddy mess. If you are looking for TRUE PRIMARY COLORS by a great brand for a really good price pick these! You wont be disappointed.

I shouldve read before purchasing... The so called primaries in this pack arent red, yellow and blue but rather magenta, yellow and cyan. Now, the colors feel good and creamy but when I was painting, I saw that it was rather see through? I dont know if anyone else has this problem. Its not too big of a problem, just thought it could be better. The other thing is, the way the yellow and magenta mix is so bad. It just stays orange even when I try to put in more yellow, it takes to long to get to the color that I want. Overall, its good quality, just not the primaries I needed.

I purchased this after watching an online painter do amazing work with the colors. The tubes are easy to use, the colors blend nicely. My skills are not as advanced as the online painter. I found the white to be chalky and frustrating as mixing it with the other colors made them chalky. I purchased the Liquitex Heavy Body paints next and prefer their depth of color. I continue to use the Amsterdam brand, but prefer the Liquitex.

This paint seems to react well with floetrol, silicone and other acrylic paints to produce the desired effects for acrylic paint pouring ( cells & lacing )..pigmentation is also very nice

Like many people have said, the red is not pure and is more of a magenta color. This is still a great deal and I would recommend it as a good basic set. It helped me finish a semester of Zoom painting since my oil paints were at school and I wasnt about to spend a few hundred to buy more.

I love this paint! It’s cruelty free and vegan friendly, which is 5 stars in my book by default. Some people seem concerned which the colors included in the set. Actually, primary magenta and cyan are true primary colors. They are the colors printers use to make each and every color we see. I love this about this brand because it’s unique, and it gives the artist more vibrant colors and mixing power. You wouldn’t get the vibrancy and the same colors for regular red or ph. Blue. Don’t be fooled, this set is a great set to have in your stash.
