My car has three dedicated USB ports and I still bought this. The reason - I usually have my phone plugged into the port specifically for Apple Car Play. Theres also two other ports with no data (just for charging), so when I have a passenger that wants to charge their phone, Ill have them use those. For whatever reason, my Car Play will start to glitch and shut off when the other phones are plugged in to those ports. Luckily, my car also has this kind of port, which doesnt cause any interference whatsoever, and also charges faster than the other one!

This works great in the car. Needed a little extra oomph to get it in the lighter port the first time, but after that it was fine.

I use this to power a raspberry pi in my camper van. But when the adapter is even slightly toughed, the power connection is briefly disrupted and resets my device (the raspberry pi). Other adapters I have dont do this, its just this model. Very unfortunate, considering the high cost.
