I shopped the various brands of these tool mat/trays before I made my choice in this one. I did make a value judgement on price vs quality and just couldn’t get myself to pay top dollar, so I took the risk and bought this one. I am so glad I did! This tray is perfect. It’s sticky enough to put on a hood or wing and not slide, yet not so sticky that it will pick up all the dirt and hair and junk. It’s plenty thick, which is nice for if you carry it with a few tools in it carefully and also to protect the vehicle below it. I like how the smaller ones nest for storage also. The one piece even had lots of smaller holes where I could store screws as they were removed. So would I recommend it? Certainly...I already have to a few friends!

When new, these mats work great. The issue I’m finding is that after a few uses, the bottom picks up a bit of grit. This grit makes the mat not stay in place as well and I’m afraid it will scratch the paint if it hits the finished area of the car. The grit doesn’t just brush off, either. I considered hand washing it but I realize that I’m not going to do that every time I want to use them. I like the mat but must be careful where I place it. It still stays in place most of the time, as long as I put it on a relatively level surface where scratches wouldn’t matter.

If you are constantly taking things apart, these are a must have. I use them in the house, out in the shop, in the yard and even out on the boat. Must have for keeping parts and tools in one spot and from rolling away.

Best to have these if you don’t want to end up finding parts after putting stuff back together. Especially if your gonna pause and come back next day. Prices batter than HarborFreight for this 3pk

Use this all the time. I am always fixing something, my truck, electronic projects, computers, and stuff around my house. Love the small tray has spaces for apexes. Safe to put on my trucks and will stay put and not scratch the paint. Makes it easy to keep track of all the tools I am using. Love the fact they have these in Blue.

These mats are pretty cool. It’s taken me a minute to get into a habit of using them. But now it makes trips to and from the project easier and I’m not having bolts rolling off cowl panels.

There are several Amazon vendors from whom you can source this product. The Aocoom price was lowest to begin with, and made even lower via a 10% discount. Rather than repeat the praise coming from others, Id like to share a tip. 1. The hex-shaped holes are great for 1/4” hex bits. If you have a short bit (all three Wera bits shown in my attached photo are 1 inch tall). Short bits are very hard to extract with bare hands; there’s not much of the bit sticking out for your fingers to grab. This problem is illustrated by the left-most bit in the picture. 2. It’s not a snug fit, but instead depends on gravity. That’s fine, but when moving the silicone pad from one location to another, some people might prefer want more security. 3. If you simply insert one of those narrow-diameter, pill-shaped magnets (available inexpensively in 10-packs from Harbor Freight), the magnet will stay in place at the bottom of the hole and the thickness of the magnet helps a bit when you try to get a grip on it. That’s illustrated by the middle bit. Still, theres not enough of the bit protruding; extraction is suboptimal. 4. The best thing is to first pad the bottom of the hole with something, and then jam in your magnet. The dimensions of the hex-shaped hole are such that the magnet will stick to the silicone just as well as when on the very bottom. With the magnet in place, the bit can’t possibly fall out, and the padding fixes the extraction problem. The result is shown on the right of my photo. 5. As for what to pad with, my first thought was to jam in some washers of appropriately small diameter. I’ve got a pretty good collection of washers, but not one had an outer diameter suitable for that task. And then I thought, why spend money on some obscure tiny washer, and then have to stack several of them to get the required lift? Instead, I shaped a small piece of glue stick, dropped it in, and then capped it with a magnet. Theres nothing special about my glue idea; it was simply on hand, and the first thing that came to mind. Use whatever stuffing you have available in your shop.

I purchased this one to compare with the US General version of these. The molds are basically the same. The major difference is with the smallest tool tray. The bit holders are 1/4 too deep, so the bits sink in and are not held properly. I fixed it with a wooden dowel and some magnets. It works great after this mod. I wish I didnt have to do that, but otherwise its a great tool. Gets the job done and cheap as well. Its very sticky and will hold up to steep inclines on any vehicle (AS LONG AS ITS CLEAN). Any dirt on the underside of the mats will hinder the ability to hold onto surfaces. Theyre made of some type of silicone material, so theyre chemical resistant and heat resistant as well. These really help make the jobs go by more smoothly and efficiently. I definitely recommend

Bought these for christmas presents. Everyone loved them and so far seem to have stood up to a lot of use the last 10 months.

Been looking at these for a while waiting for price to drop. I don’t understand how some of these sets are priced around $100 ... it’s silicone! I have used the set for a while and really like them. They are thick and heavy enough to be rigid, but still flexible. I can’t see how the ones that are 2 or 3 times more expensive are any better.
