> 3 dayThe clippers dont fit in to the case properly. The switch on the side keeps it from fitting like it does in the picture.

> 3 daySkipable Backstory ------------------------------ Ive had a Wahl Senior/8500/850/whatever for 10+ years now, and its been living in a drawer along with its loyal band of Loose Stuff/Accessories. Not the most organized way of keeping things, but its been working. Recently I learned from Wahl that the Senior was still being sold, so I figured I buy myself a spare from Amazon. With luck, it would come with a case to keep it and all the Loose Stuff in. The new Senior arrived, but without a case - just a retail cardboard sleeve around a white cardboard box with a black plastic insert. I figured I try a certain website beginning with AM to finally get myself a case. Skipable Frustrating Case Search --------------------------------------------------- Plenty of clipper cases out there for CORDLESS models. Not so for CORDED ones. I assumed one could probably still get a corded model to fit, but there would have to long enough for both the clipper and the Pesky non-detatchable Cord poking out one end. Turns out Wahl does make a case (yea!) but they said its only for cordless models. There was a single case on Amazon that lists support for the Senior, but included *no* pictures of the inside of the case and both reviews seemed to imply there wasnt enough space. So the search continued... Since there appeared to be no obvious cases for the Senior, perhaps there was one for a Wahl model that was THE SAME SIZE AS THE SENIOR and ALSO had a Pesky non-detachable Cord. The listed specs for the Senior show it to be a One-Dimensional Item at 6.5 in length (no width, no height) and 1 Lb, 3 oz. I noticed that the Wahl 5-Star Senior *ALSO* was a One-Dimensional Item at 6.5 in length (no width, no height) with the same weight and came in a corded model. A bit more checking showed that both models appeared to have the same general size/shape/style/etc. All I needed to do was find a case that supported the CORDED version of the Wahl 5-Star Senior. This particular case claimed to support BOTH the cordless AND corded verions of the Wahl 5-Star Senior, so I figured Id give it a try. Observations ------------------- As you can tell from the pictures, The Wahl Senior FIT IN THE CASE along with all the extra bits of stuff that was cluttering up the drawer. The case was a little longer than the Wahl box/insert but a little less wide. The **ONLY** possible minor issue is that the area of the case near the on/off switch is Too Tight by about 1/16 of inch. This is not really a concern as the case is made of flexible materials so it stretches to fit. An extra 1/16 would be nice, but it isnt mission critical. This case is custom made specifically for the 5-Star Senior, and perhaps there is a very tiny difference (1/16 difference) between the design of the 5-Star and the Senior. All I can say is that THE SENIOR FITS and thats good enough for me. So far as other things go, it seems sturdy/good quality, and is an excellent replacement for the cardboard box the Senior came in. As its a little bit longer and slightly less wide than the original box, I am not losing anything space-wise by switching to the case over the original box. For storing the clipper - and especially the Extra Stuff - this case beats the box hands down. The case also has a small/soft plastic handle on the side, but as its small/soft it doesnt get in the way when storing the case a drawer. Some Measurements: -------------------------------- Closed Length: 10 1/2 (at longest part) Closed Width: 6 1/2 (at widest part) Closed Height: 3 6/8 Inside Length: 9 1/4 (bottom and pocket) Inside Width: 2 1/2 (clipper); 1 1/2 (cord); 5 (pocket) Inside Height: 1 6/8 (bottom); 1 1/2 (pocket, but net stretches of course) Clipper Area Measurement Trivia: ------------------------------------------------- My Wahl Senior measures about 7 from the tip of the Plastic Red Blade Guard to its other end. So need only 7 of space? Not really, unless one wants to forcibly bend (damage) a certain Pesky Cord poking out one end of the clipper. I guess Id need at least 8 3/4 to allow for a gentle bend in the cord so It can wrapped out of the way, and as there is 9 1/4 of space inside this case, there is enough room for the clipper AND its Pesky non-detachable Cord. Pocket Area Trivia: ---------------------------- I have extra clipper guides that I rarely or never use. Along with the manuals/info and spare #1005 blades, I also have a four ounce bottle of blade oil. All this stuff fits into the pocket area and there is no problem closing/zipping up the case. Cord Trivia: ----------------- Whether a corded or cordless model (which still needs a cord to charge), one has to stuff/store the cord out of the way, and that can be ANNOYING. I guess it might be interesting if some cord control was built into the case... ..maybe a cloth pocket, velcro straps, etc?? Something to help with the annoying cord. For myself, I ordered some velcro cord wraps (from Amazon of course!) and used some of those to keep the Pesky Cord from trying to escape, etc. Unrelated: -------------- Just in case (no pun intended) anyone asks, I was not compensated in any way shape or form for this review. Just Annoyed when I tried to find a case for the Wahl Senior and found my options were rather limited, with 99.99% of the search results showing CORDLESS models, not CORDED ones. So on the small chance some other Wahl Senior (8500/850/etc) owner should stumble over this overly long review - yes, the Senior does indeed work with this case.
