> 3 dayAs careful as I was, I managed to break one of the API test tubes the second time I used the kit. So went hunting for a stand. Came across this one, which looked promising, but I wasnt sure about some of the negative comments. You neednt be worried about them! The sellers have evidently been listening and have addressed them! There is a little block that the tubes sit on now so they can dry easily, and the holes are offset so you can read the individual test results without having to remove the tubes from the stand (although I still do as my eyesight is not that great...LOL). The stand has six holes, so you can run an entire series of tests in one shot, but isnt so huge that it takes up a ton of space. And its got the cutest little elephant design on the ends! Im so happy I bought this!

> 3 dayArrived broken, replacement on the way, but I really like this stand. It makes testing a lot easier if you use an API kit

> 3 daySuper helpful for aquarium maintenance. Keeps tests safely upright! I do wish the drying poles were longer to permit tubes to dangle, but its a nice, good looking product with a small footprint.

> 3 dayThis product was bought after several spills and breaking a test tube from a knock over. It holds the API test tubes for testing perfectly, no complaint there. However as has been mentioned by many the drying part of the rack is terribly designed and mostly worthless. The posts are way to short and only hold the inverted test tube in place. Since the bottom of the test tube is in full contact with the base it forms a seal and no water from the inside of the tube is allowed to exit. I place a folded up piece of paper towel between the drying posts and the rack to elevate one side of the test tube to allow the interior water to escape the tube. A thin piece of acrylic butted up to the backside of the posts would have accomplished the same thing and would have accommodated many different length test tubes. I only give 3 stars, since only half of the advertised functions actually work from the design. Would I recommend? If you need something to hold test tubes securely while you test, then Yes. 5 stars If you require something to actually dry your test tubes between tests then No. 1 star.

Greater than one weekThis is a great little test tube rack that fits the API aquarium test tubes perfectly. Many previous reviews mentioned that the drying posts were useless as the older design allowed no air flow into the inverted tubes for them to dry. This newer design has apparently added a riser on one side of the posts to lift the tubes off the base to allow for that air flow. But, as some other reviewers had also mentioned, the six staggered positions are not in the best configuration. It would be nice to have a straight line of holes, with spaces in between, so that water parameters can be read against the reference card without removing them from the rack. As is it, the tubes cannot be easily aligned with, or compared to, a reference card held behind. Future design should have a straight line of appropriately spaced holes, and a post in the back so that the reference card can be held in place behind the tubes for easy reading. Still, a nicely made tube rack for API test tubes.

01-06-2025Overall, its pretty high quality. The drying rack part is nice, but the rods are so short that the tubes sit flush against the bottom, keeping them from actually drying. I threaded a zip tie between them to keep them elevated and its working much better.
