I usually dont bother with negative reviews but when I spend this much on paper and this is how I recieved it I wasnt very happy. For the most part every thing I order on Amazon shows up intact. This block had damaged cover and corners and had come detached from the block in two separate pieces and not one page is sealed as it should be. I want a new one. The paper itself gets 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the sender gets 1⭐ for it getting here early but damaged.

The first two paintings done on this block were fine (wedding then graduation) but the third started buckling three days ago and I have to turn it over and weight it down overnight so I can paint the next day. Someone else said they had this problem with Arches Hot Press block 9 x 12, but I had no issues with that and you can check my review there. Very disappointed as I purchase what I believe to be a quality product for my commissions. Not sure what to do now.

I made a rookie mistake - As I am new to watercolor, I figured I would learn on cheaper paper. I almost quit before I began. If you want to learn, go for the quality. It makes a big difference.

I like to use the blocks. I usually paint a certain size and the blocks are already cut and stretched to fit my frames. They take paint smoothly, keep the paper tight when you paint, and the paper is smooth (no warping) when it dries. The only problem is that they have become very expensive in the last couple of years. I may have to cut a stretch my own paper if the price goes up much more.

Love arches watercolor block pad. It keeps the paper in perfect form as long as you don’t go crazy with too much water on it. I won’t use any other kind.
