This printer takes a LOT of research to get it working properly on a Mac, Instructions are useless. No labels included with machine so you need to buy labels to test the printer. Labels dont always start printing on top of labels without a lot of fiddling around and manually placing the labels in the right spot each time you start to print a label. Youll tend to waste labels while setting up printing on this machine. To adjust the contrast and printer defaults on Mac you need to install CUPS on your system. I think if youre comfortable with fiddly set up and have time to do it, youll learn how to use this printer and itll work for you.

I know that some of the vine people had issues with this printer. One of them said it didn’t have Bluetooth, which is true, but it doesn’t say that it has Bluetooth! Why would you expect it to have Bluetooth. Another complained about the USB A-B cable (included). I hate to tell you, honey, all printers connect to your computer by a USB A-B printer (unless you pay extra for WiFi or Bluetooth). Lastly, one user complained that the printing was too light. All Thermal printers come with a darkness setting of 8 (out of 16). Just click that up to 9-12 range and your labels will be fine. Now on to my review. I have 3 other models/ brands of thermal printers. So, I know a bit about these machines. Installation: the installation software comes on a disc, but there is a QR code to download the drivers printed on the front of the disc. Installation was quite straight forward. First, run the software. Second, connect your printer, done. I’d recommend setting the “stock” and “options” to match your labels. Comparison: the only printer that I have that beats this $60 printer is my Zebra gxt 420, but of course that is a $400 -$600 printer. This printer beats the Beeprt (sold under many brand names) and even my old Zebra LP2844. Daily Use: The printer labels are super easy to load! There is this brilliant label track that I wish all Thermal printers. When you close the printer cover, the label lines itself up automatically. The labels print VERY quickly! I have printed several hundred labels on these printers already and have really had no issues except one. However the Artestia support team was very responsive and the helped me immediately.

I don’t even know the last time I used something without bluetooth connectivity. This thermal labeler ONLY works with cords. There is no bluetooth feature, and the installation of the software comes on a CD. Highly disappointed, as a majority of my devices are Apple, without a CD port. Once I finally got it installed, it works okay - but there is no app, no remote printing and the feed jams. Just disappointed. I thought I was getting something better, for the price of the printer.

I needed a basic 4x6 label printer that would work with both Linux and Windows, and this one does that. What I did not know when I ordered it was that the print resolution is low (203dpi) which results in marginally acceptable labels for shipments. While the quality is good enough to get by, its not professional looking and thus not satisfactory for my needs. I returned the printer and will be purchasing a higher quality unit. For those who are OK with very basic print quality, this unit might be acceptable at its price point. Heres what I found: - Installation under Windows was straightforward. Drivers come on a CD and a standard Windows driver install does the trick. - As mentioned in one of the other reviews, the printer sometimes doesnt align labels at the right point, which causes labels to be mis-printed on 2 labels. Re-inserting the blank labels with the front edge fed to the front of the unit usually corrects this. - Linux drivers have to be downloaded, but these do install successfully. The download includes and installs driver sets for a LOT of different models but I found that none of them match the model of this unit. That did not seem to be a problem, however, as I was able to select one of a number of different choices and these all worked - if they were drivers for 203dpi. There are a couple of drivers for 300dpi models, and these would not work with this unit. (The Windows driver also confirms 203dpi as the only possible setting.) - Theres a user manual, but it was written by someone who really doesnt know the English language. Part of the wording simply doesnt make sense, but one can intuitively figure out how to make the printer work without having to rely on the manual. Overall recommendation: Invest in a more capable printer.

I should have known I had purchased an inferior product when I saw the cables to this thermal printer. Its been 10 years since Ive bought anything that came with cables like them. And enclosed was a CD for software installation--no place online for downloading, a problem because most current laptops dont have CD drives. And once you do get the program loaded--hours that I cant get back--the software is so complex, it would take a programmer to figure it out. I dont really know where to start on where it went from there except to say I did eventually get a stamp. It was faded in places, so not that great, but by that time I was relieved by my success. Perhaps many years ago this would have been considered a pretty good device, but it is now completely outmoded. 2 very generous stars.

Not a great headline, I know, but that is honestly how I feel. Its OK and nothing more. You can probably do better than this. My wife has a small business she runs from home and wanted a label printer to save her time. Shes generally adept at figuring out how to get things to work. Even so, she had to ask for my help when she couldnt get this printer working. She was frustrated and said that the instructions that came with the printer were terrible. I figured out that she had the labels feeding into the printer label side down, and they should be up. With that correction, things were mostly working good. When I say that things were mostly working good, thats because there are still 2 things that are not that great: - Label Feed Errors: There are times when the printer gets messed up and does not advance the proper distance to the top of the label for printing. This requires manual adjustment and ends up wasting labels, at times. This is basic functionality that should work better. My wife said that if she had a business where she was printing lots of labels at once, shed go batty with this printer. - Thermal Printing Darkness: The labels would ideally be a bit darker. So, I assume this means there is not enough heat being applied to the label? Or is this a label issue? Its hard to know if its the printer or the labels. Anyway, they are usable, even if not as dark as shed like. - Price: This is certainly no bargain. Honestly, I dont know whats so hard about printing a label on a standard printer and taping it onto a box, but if this worked really well, as it should, it would definitely save some effort. Overall, I am not excited about this printer. I suggest you shop around on Amazon for one with a higher rating.

I have had trouble setting up this printer. I cant get it to work. I no longer have a CD-ROM drive, so I couldnt use the included drivers and had to download them using the QR code. I wish the company hadnt included a CD-ROM because it seems wasteful when you can download the drivers instead. My computer wouldnt recognize this printer. It was a frustrating experience all around. This printer didnt come with any sample labels, which is frustrating. I just wanted one or two so that I could see if the printer worked before purchasing a large number of labels for it. I couldnt get my PC to recognize the printer though, so I eventually gave up. What would have been ideal with this item is for it to have had blue tooth and for me to send labels over via my phone instead of having to use a computer and go through a large amount of set up.

Hooked this up and was printing labels in 10 minutes. I like the minimalist design, simple and black. Did not come with any free labels. If you dont have a cd rom, simply try scanning the qr code on the disk and if it doesnt work then Google 36-0206502-00LF and you should be able to download the driver from the internet.

I would really love to come back and give this printer at least a midgrade rating at some point. But for now, its just taking up space. Im not the most technologically adept person, but I have set up label printers before. So, even when the instructions were utterly useless (they are incoherent -- possibly automated translation was used, so they were translated literally, which results in the sentences making no sense), I thought I could figure it out. I was wrong. I do not have a CD-ROM drive on my computer, so I tried scanning the QR code and using Google search for the driver. No luck there. I downloaded several potential drivers, and none of them worked. That means I cant even get started to see what the print quality is like. As I said, I hope that at some point I can figure it out and come back and update this review. But for now, I just have a useless printer taking up space in my office.
