> 24 hourOrdered one unit a couple days ago to test it out and had great results. Ordered a second unit a day later and it was shipped in its original box however, the shipper packed it in an envelope this time (previous was in a corrugated box) which did little to protect the item and showed up damaged (see pics). As a result the box was crushed a bit and the catch tube was broken, the unit itself seems to be working okay, though it does bind more often than the previous unit bought days earlier. Could be a result of the shipping damage, operator error, or both...

> 24 hourI’m restoring an old aluminum fishing boat and had to replace several 3/16 aluminum rivets today. Tried the first one with my old manual squeeze riveter. What a pain for my old arthritic hands. Then I used this one for 5 or 6. Man, it was a dream. One put of the (approx 8lb) trigger and pop, there she was. Granted that’s just a few, but I have trim pieces that’ll require about 60 more, when I get to that stage of the process. So far so good. I’ll edit later after I’m done with the whole job. Update: just about completed my project. Have installed in the neighborhood of 100 aluminum rivets. It has been flawless.

> 24 hourIts Easy to hold and use. Its also very sturdy. It Needs to be mauntained properly. My first one was defective and jammed on first try. My Replacement works great. When you first get it, pull the trigger twice and if all works fine, remove nose and spray both sides of jaws with wd40 white lithium grease and 2 drops of good tool oil in air inlet(pull trigger twice) to lubricate piston, then put the nose size on youll use And youre ready to use the power of the this air Riveter. I used a box of 50 3/16 rivets and this Riveter popped them with ease and no more straining my hands to pop long rivets with this sweet Riveter. Remember to lubricate internal piston with tool oil and the jaws with white grease everytime and youll be good to go for a long time intil you need to add hydraulic oil. Also, after you pop a Rivet, turn rivet nose up right away, so rivet nail drops into the plastic catch cup using gravity, so you dont have bend over to pick them up. My replacement works great and Astro said my first one that jammed was probably from a batch of 1500 units that were not adjusted correctly at the factory,so make sure to try it in case yours is defective or not, otherwise happy riveting. I plan to get a portable air tank to make my astro Riveter a mobile tool as it needs minimal cfm to pop some rivets, otherwise Im happy with this astro Riveter for now as its saves my hands and does a great job installing rivets. i cant wait to use my 1/4 extra long rivets. Other than performing well, it handles all size rivets i typically use, which is a big bonus for me. Dont forget there is a nose piece in a plastic bag in the box, so dont lose it. Enjoy and test it before your return window closes up and lubricate piston and jaws every time you use it and itll continue work well for you. Maintenance is key for this tool. It works great and saves your hands.

> 24 hourDid my headline catch your eye? Good, as that was my intention. This is a nice unit as it it well made, and performs nicely. I just about wore myself out pulling 3/16 aluminum rivets by hand, and decided I would not punish myself again like that. So I bought one of these and it did my most recent 3/16 pop rivet job with ease. Very happy with it. Why not a rating of 5 you ask? Well, when I received my unit i was sure that the manufacturer had left out 3 of the 5 nose pieces. Thats the little part that has to be changed out depending upon what size rivet you are going to install. I was quite beside myself. Well, I finally realized after a good bit of time and effort, that the manufacturer has carefully hidden three of the nosepieces in the bottom of the unit in threaded holes just for that purpose. Unfortunately it is not intuitive at all to think to look underneath a tool for spare parts. I have been a mechanic and fabricator for decades, and I have never looked underneath a tool for spare parts. Never. Only spare tires for trucks are hidden underneath what you have bought. Now, this little product feature may well drive you crazy and waste your time, as the users manual doesnt mention this. In addition, there is a bag of parts that comes with the unit, including nice tools for the unit, a spare set of replacement jaws - and ONE nosepiece! Just where you would expect to see the four nose pieces (with the one already installed to make the five you were expecting). I finally figured this out on my own - after sending the supplier an urgent message, and drafting an initial product review. Curiously, while this is an issue with the product and its literature, Amazon refused to publish that review, somehow deciding that my observations were feedback rather than a product review. Hence my present review. Why not a five rating? Because the product itself and its literature are flawed, and can waste a lot of your time. I challenge the manufacturer to add a note to their literature and perhaps slip a little note in the parts bag as well.

> 24 hourI received what had obviously been an open box and someones amazon return. Non factory tape sealed the top. Upon opening, I found the plastic bottle for the rear of the gun, cracked in half. The four packs of complimentary rivets were missing. I technically didnt need this as I am using closed end rivets on my project and had ordered those separately, so that was not that big a deal, but still, with a piece broken and stuff missing, that just didnt seem right. Of note, make sure you have a 1/4 female quick release adapter already purchased as the unit does not come with one. I keep an extra male and female adapter in my kit for picking up tools to use on the compressor, so again, not a big deal - but I was thinking, darn, if someone didnt have this on hand, theyd be making a trip to the hardware store to use the gun. And, maybe its just me, but the product pictures are a little shady in being at angles that dont clearly show this to the purchaser. Mostly, just frustrated because of what was sent to me. I did hook the gun up to test it out. Seems to work well... 90-120psi recommended. I used both 3/16 and 1/4 rivets to test and the tool appears to work as advertised, so I rated it accordingly. I will say the design is a bit awkward. When your used to tools with bottom compressor feeds, a feed on the side can be a real pain when using the tool at odd angles. But it appeared that just about every one of these sold on amazon under some different chinese company name all had the same design.

> 24 hourHad a old Campbell hausfeld that finally took a dump after 40 years. Was looking at buying another but they are very expensive. Saw this one for 1/2 the money and it had better reviews. Put in maybe 500 rivets over the last 4 months with it and been very impressed
