ASUS 21.5 inch Ultra Slim Gaming Computer Monitor - Full HD 1920x1080, 1ms Response Time, Built-in Speakers, HDMI Port, VGA Port - VP228HE

I bought two of these monitors and my primary use is Bible reading, photography, web design, and video/music editing. Both monitors works great for that and they would be fine to game on too. I choose these monitors because they have hdmi and audio connections as they have built-in speakers. I already have a set of Sony external speakers but wanted to use the built-in speakers whenever I watched YouTube. I was disappointed in the very bad quality of the speaker sound. Asus shouldnt have even bothered putting in speakers. Also, you cannot connect audio cable from PC to the monitor and expect sound if you are using hdmi. If you are using vga then it works. Because my graphic card doesnt support dual hdmi audio simultaneously, only one monitor can play audio at a time. I had to contact Asus and they did confirm this to me.

This monitor has been fine for gaming/streaming purposes. For graphic design work though, Ive noticed the color can be quite a bit off on this monitor vs other devices. So if youre just going to be playing games, writing emails etc. its a great monitor. If you need total color accuracy, you may want to look at other options.

I love this monitor. I had the 144hz from Asus and did not want to replace. I had to try the 244hz. I can tell you, its amazing. Well worth the price for a great product.

First off let me say that this is NOT a 120hz monitor. Not only did I magically pay $150 for this thing, but it was falsely advertised and I can not be more upset. Despite all of that I can say that it is a great secondary monitor for my mother whom Ive decided to give this to. The 75hz AGAIN SEVENTY FIVE HERTY REFRESH RATE works well with my mothers simple work tasks and responsibilities. I would not recommend this to any hard core gamer and especially for the price I paid for it.

Good picture, terrible sound volume.

The only thing good on this monitor was text sharpness. screen looked washed out, pictures did not look natural Peoples faces had a green tint.. If an add came up with a dark background or there was a large picture on the web page the screen would automatically darken making any pictures look even worse. Went to online users manual to try to adjust settings but the manual was useless for me. I could not find any information on how to lighten colors or change hue of pictures. Finally gave up in frustration and returned the monitor. I have a 10 yr old HP monitor that has a much better picture with no adjustment and natural looking colors.. I expected that a 10 yr newer monitor would be at at least as good as the old one. It was not.

I’m usually a fan of Asus products as they are well thought out and good quality. Unfortunately that didn’t work out for this monitor. I was looking for one with speakers so I could switch between work and plugging in a Roku or gaming console so that narrowed down my choices. While this Asus does reasonably for streaming video and gaming it’s not good for text. Even with brightness turned down and contrast up I couldn’t get a reasonable black for my text.

Use this monitor when I get home to get a larger sharper image.

This is probably an LCD or IPS monitor with LED edge backlighting instead of full array LED backlighting. Inspite of the reasonable price, a reasonable reproduction of the original laptop monitor of my computer only occurred if I tilted the monitor manually past the angle allowed by the monitor stand. Even then is was slightly hazy. My laptop produces 4k resolution which is translated down by this monitor. This further reduces the crispness and contrast. If this backlighting were full array, the monitor price would have to be higher and the contrast improved and no fogging. I dont blame ASUS as much as I blame myself for not being educated about the display technologies which are constantly evolving into such backlit modes as OLED, and others. Even though the price is very reasonable the monitor narrow viewing angle and the accompanying fog on the screen made for a very unpleasant viewing experience. I returned the item. Amazons return policy is the best in the world!

I bought this as a 2nd monitor. I chose this one cause its the same as my first monitor.
