After reading the users manual, I was so confused I almost returned the thing. My advice is through the manual out and use the tool. Very easy to use, I instantly loved the thing. I have been using VOM s for many years as a mechanic, on electronicly controled diesel engines. This tool makes them almost obsolete.

I was trying to find a 12v switch wire on my Model 3 Performance that turned on when I hit the break pedal and off when I exited the car. It was hard to use a regular meter. This tool allowed me to easily see when it detected the 12v even when I was on the opposite side of the car. Highly recommend.

This is a great tool that makes piercing and identifying a wire very simple and fast. It eliminates the hassle of trying to pierce a wire with a needle that is located in a hard to reach location.
