> 24 hourI got these as substitutes for a Starrett blade of the same dimensions (1/8, 14 TPI); despite the identical tooth count, these have a more aggressive cut that leaves a rougher finish than that of the Starrett blade. I eventually went back to the Starrett for the finer work that I usually do with this size blade, and will save these for stuff where the finish isnt as important. That said, they are half the price of the Starrett blade, so theyre a pretty good value over all.

> 24 hourBought these replacement blades for my husband’s shopsmith. Because a coupling of reviews mentioned breakage of the blade, he cut with both blades. They both cut well. He says he slowly guides the wood and has never had a blade break. Will order this product again as needed.

> 24 hourHavent used this a whole lot yet so Im not sure how durable it is, but it cut fairly easily and made some nice curves. If it lasts even close to an acceptable length of time I will continue to buy these blades because hey, two blades for a little more than the price of one at a specialty shop.

> 24 hourBlade perfectly fits my Shopsmith band saw. I havent cut a lot with it yet, but it runs smoothly, no jumping at the weld. It seems to cut fast and smoothly. I generally only use a 1/8 for scroll cutting pine or softwoods less than 1/2 thick and it seems to work good for this. May not be as good as the Shopsmith blades, but for way less than half the price is a real value.

How to choose the right bandsaw blades
- The narrower the blade in width (or depth), the tighter the cut radius possible and therefore, it"s more suited to curve-work.
- The wider the blade, the easier to maintain a straight cut and therefore more suitable to straight cuts and resaw work.
- The less teeth per inch, the more aggressive the cut, more effective the chip/swarf clearance, and is therefore more suited to deeper stock or cutting with the long fibres of the grain.
- Curve-cutting blades often have six or more teeth per inch. The more teeth per inch, the smoother the finished cut and less tear out when cutting across the grain.
