I developed a couple of eczema patches on my hand. I had tried several other butters and oils, but they never penetrated the dry patch. I went to the National Eczema Association for suggestions, which saidVirgin sunflower seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties to help soothe itchy and inflamed eczema skin, and can improve skin hydration and preserve the integrity of the skin’s natural barrier. This sunflower seeds oils has made my hands so soft. A little goes a very long way. It comes out very liquidy, but it absorbs very quickly. Its not sticky. It doesnt leave you shiny like baby oil. Your hands are very smooth once its absorbed.

My daughter has battled with eczema since she was a baby. Now shes 14 and is self conscience like any ordinary teen. She used steroid ointments for years, but became worried when she found out about the long term affects on the skin. She switched to mineral oil based on a suggestion from our primary care doctor, and it worked fairly well but she would still have episodes where her arms and legs had noticeable eczema. A few months later we went to see her dermatologist. He suggested sunflower oil because it has natural anti-bacterial properties. Eczema patients are more prone to infection because their skin is almost like an open wound when it is dry and irritated. I searched the different sunflower oils available. Many looked like they were more for cooking or not a very high quality. Banyan Botanicals is the brand that I felt comfortable with after reading its description and reviews. Im glad I found this product. My daughter has been using it now for a little over a month. If you didnt know any better you wouldnt even know she has eczema. The other day we were riding in the car and I looked over at her arms and legs. They looked so good, I told her WOW, you look like a regular kid. I got a big smile out of her.

Ive been looking for a good organic sunflower oil and I believe Ive finally found it. It is wonderfully silky with little to no smell to interfere with any EOs I may use. I like this for massage oil because when I use refined coconut oil, it solidifies in the AC room (I live in HI, we need AC!). Its a fantastic oil for my clients with skin sensitivity and feels luxurious on the skin for a fraction of the price.

Large quantity, so you get a lot for your money. It has not done anything for dry skin though.

It truly is a great value. You might pay more for a dark glass bottle, which would be great to store oils in, but you could also avoid light ruining your oil by storing it in a dark place. The fact that this is organic, I love. I am the type of person that doesnt care so much anymore what I spend - I rather buy organic, buy less, and enjoy ten times more. I didnt receive this myself, but the person I sent it to as a gift absolutely loved it. WOO hoo! Its perfect for so many things - simple light moisturizing, its a great massage oil you can blend with essential oils, its great for lotion bases, so yeah.
