The quick reach opening on the side was great to easily grab books without opening from the top. Attached a pic of what I usually pack. And this bag actually holds more! Perfect for our international trip we just took with baby.

> 3 dayI have not used this backpack yet. Scheduled to leave for an Alaskan cruise this Friday. I have never used a backpack before but thought I would try it. I ordered one that was a good size, would hold a lot but was just limp and hard to pack. This one has structure, sits flat, and opens and stays open at the top. Also, there is only one pocket facing out in the back, not multiple pockets to lose things in. Like I said, I have not used this yet, but I think it’s going to be a winner. I love that it is sleek and fits close to the body. I’m sure the more I use it, the more organized I will be. I’m 74 and it beats dragging a carry on around the airport.
