> 24 hourTL;DR: Great looking monitor. Big stand, tends to wiggle, monitor hum inconducive to audio work I originally bought this to replace an aging 30 Apple Cinema Display in my home project studio. I mainly work with audio and the occasional image/video edit. Out of the box, this thing is pretty great. The image is nice and clear, the screen real estate is definitely a positive, I like the integrated USB hub (one less thing on my desk), and the included puck is actually pretty handy. Overall, its a great monitor, but there are a few things others should know prior to purchasing: 1. The base of the stand is a lot bigger than I expected. Granted, thats on me for not completely researching all of the specs prior to purchasing. The dimensions are 11 3/16 deep by 15 1/2 wide. With the monitor in its most perpendicular position, this puts the front of the monitor roughly 7 from the back of your desk. Its a bit closer to my seated position than I would like, but its something to keep in mind for those with limited desk space. 2. Given the size of the base, Id expect this thing to be rock solid. Unfortunately, the monitor does wiggle when typing on my keyboard. I tried to narrow down what would be the culprit here, and I think its the Vesa mount position that connects to the back of the monitor. Maybe if I had a solid wooden desk it wouldnt be an issue, but Im using one of those Z-Line Cyprus glass top desks. Not a huge issue, but can be distracting. 3. The biggest issue, and the reason why I decided to return it for something else, is the noise this thing makes. The monitor emits a humming noise when receiving any video signal. I tried HDMI, DisplayPort, and even DVI, but the noise is still there. It sounds like a small engine or fan constantly running. I saw another reviewer mention this, and now I cant un-notice it. To get audio-nerd on you for a moment, I pulled out my SPL meter and measured the noise at 45 dBSPL, C-Weighted, Slow. That doesnt sound like much, but when youre listening at low levels, you can certainly hear the humming from the monitor. Such a bummer, because otherwise this monitor is awesome. If youre not using this monitor in a critical-listening environment it probably wont bother you. All-in-all, its a great looking monitor with only a few cons. I really wanted to like this monitor, but ultimately the humming is just too much to deal with in my situation.

> 24 hourNeeded a monitor that can grow into a video studio system if needed. This one can do just that.

> 24 hourI got this monitor for work, specifically for spreadsheets and ability to have and view easily across multiple screens. It has not let me down. I am a former multi-screen user and this is so much simpler. I love the quick screen adjustments with the puck or as I use it directly on the bottom of the monitor. As my eyes tire I can change the view and it makes a huge difference to n your eyes. The base is heavy and very stable. The original base I received was scratched and they were very responsive to replace it. The ease in raising and lowering the monitor can be done with your finger. Same goes for turning to either side or if you want to rotate from landscape to portrait. I’m also a photographer and this screen is ideal for editing. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend.

> 24 hourGreat colors, I have two of these and they both came calibrated. I purchased these for the purpose of photo and video editing and I am pleased with them. I checked both of them with my Datacolor Spyder5 Elite and they didnt require any color calibration out of the box. I do some gaming on them as well but the frame rate is not up to the task for pro gamers. Just to have that said. The DP cables that came with the monitors sucks. I had issues with them on both monitors so I purchased better cables, it solved the issue on one monitor but not completely on the other. The second monitor is often unrecognized by the video card and stays black when I boot up my computer, when the monitor works it sometimes go black for a few seconds when hooked up via the DP port. Doesnt matter what type of cable or video card, I have used both AMD and Nvidia cards. I have no issues with that monitor when its connected through HDMI but I cant run 10bit through the HDMI though. These monitors has been used daily for about a year now with no issues than the issue mentioned above.

> 24 hourThis is an awesome monitor for productivity, media entertainment, and gaming! After my wife usurped my last computer setup it was time to build a new rig and purchase at least one new monitor. The monitor was the most difficult decision for me. As a family man, software engineer, gamer, media hobbyist and avid tv/movie watcher I need a monitor setup that was affordable and still provided large real estate, high resolution, vivid and accurate colors, good performance. For the price of two mediocre monitors I was able to purchase this one large awesome monitor. The 4K is very nice in that it provides me with a lot of flexibility arranging windows and work areas when doing development and media editing. So far I havent missed having a second monitor. I was worried about text being to small, but the images are so crisp my old eyes dont strain to read. For refresh, accuracy, and crispness getting an IPS panel monitor was a great choice and it works perfectly on this monitor. Videos and games are also gorgeous at 4K, but if I need to down the resolution and up the refresh rate the monitor is a rock star for first person shooters as well. Im still only an average gamer, so I imagine if you want an amazing monitor for first person shooters and competitive play you might pick something else, but I would say for 80% of gamers this monitor would be an awesome addition for you. There are plenty of connections on this monitor for multi 2 HDMIs, one display port and one mini display port. So it is going to support my laptop, gaming machine, and 4K console easily! I must mention one thing that really bummed me out though, which is not an issue with the monitor but with perhaps the packaging facility. The monitor came scratched near the center of the view port. So if you get this monitor check the screen closely at first, the scratches didnt appear when the monitor was on. However, for a brand new monitor I dont expect scratches. The replacement from Amazon wasnt prompt, again not a problem with the monitor but something to be aware of if purchasing through the site. All in all, I am now a fan of BENQ and very happy with this monitor. If you are on the fence, like I was, about picking a cheaper 4K IPS monitor for gaming, productivity, and general use I hope this helps easy your fears about this particular monitor and brand!

> 24 hourthe box arrived damaged, but the screen was protected internally with foam, it was easy to install, not much configuration needed, i have been working with it for 2 weeks, no problems so far. i use it with 220v cable. mostly i do coding, movies. less gaming. but this screen got a lot of good reviews and has all the needed inputs i need. the price is a little high for screen that is not the latest in the market, but still good buying,

> 24 hourThis thing cost about twice as much as low end 32-inch 4k monitors, but it appears at least twice as well made. It appears to be built to last. Without its stand it weighs 18.8 pounds, much more than low end 32-inch monitors. I have only had this screen for a little while, but so far, I love it. It has five buttons on its front lower right corner that let you rapidly select various options, including lighting. I love its CAD/CAM lighting option, which is a high contrast view. This view brings screens with dark backgrounds -- such as many coding windows like pycharm or of the 3D animation software like Blender -- to life. In general, it produces a very clear, sharp images. The black background appears quite even, but, if you put your eyes close to it to read fine print, areas of the screen further from your eyes will appear somewhat darker, even though it is an IPS screen. I have mounted this monitor on an Ergotron LX Desk monitor arm rather that the stand it comes with, but the stand it comes with looks unusually sturdy, which is a plus. Because this monitor, without stand weighs 18.8 pounds, my Ergotron arm currently has trouble holding it up. But Egotron has assured me that, if I tighten their LX Desk arm with an allen wrench, the LX arm should be able to fully support it, through the mounting arms full range of motio

> 24 hourThe monitor is an exceptionally good deal if you need an accurate sRGB 4k monitor. Colors are right on, brightness is more than adequate, and the controls, if complex, are usable. I am a photographer, and I replaced a dying, elderly and vastly more expensive monitor with a larger color space with this product, due to budgeting constraints and wanting to see my output as others do. It doesnt do me any good to spend thousands on a monitor so that I can edit my Adobe color space photos but lose everything but sRGB as soon as it leaves my office. So, as Im used to that larger color space, sRGB just looks a bit dull. But, its as good as any non-professional monitor will do and far better than any printed version will ever be. And, the software that comes with the monitor is happy to switch between multiple presets automatically when switching between programs, so I can punch up the colors for web surfing and very occasional gaming, but have the monitor automatically switch to an accurate setting when I start Photoshop. If this monitor lasts, and I have no indication that it wont, itll have been an excellent investment.

> 24 hourYes, this is a monitor and sound should not matter at all. The picture is AMAZING. This is a replacement for another BenQ 4k monitor that died 6 months after the warranty ran out. The system I use has no need for speakers so I have no external speakers. The previous BenQ had internal speakers that were sufficient for youtube and listening to voice mails. This has the absolute cheapest and most horrible speakers. They were so bad that I thought they were defective. When I called tech support, the gentleman explained that he has 2 of this model and that, yes, the speakers are that bad. The question that I have is If they are going SO cheap on the speakers then what else are they going SO cheap on? Why not delete the speakers completely if you feel that no one even uses them? I truly hope that this one last longer then the last, as it does have a great picture.
