> 3 dayWorth the price. Best carpet cleaner I’ve ever owned. Comparatively speaking, it is a bit pricy, but worth every penny. Could not possibly recommend more.

Greater than one weekThis review is for the Bissell Big Green. My carpets are old and very light in color. I live with three dogs. One of them is a senior and her bladder isn’t what it used to be. I’m not disciplined enough to wipe their paws before coming back inside, so my carpets take a bit of a beating in tracking in dirt and grime. This is the first “high end” carpet cleaner I’ve owned, but in my garage is a grave yard of floor cleaners that didn’t work too well. This machine exceeded my expectations. After purchasing MANY carpet cleaners (everywhere between the $130 to $250 range), the Big Green did its job quite well. THE PICTURES TELL IT ALL: 1 - See the picture with the white dresser to left. You can clearly see the difference in the carpet between the cleaned area (in front of the dresser) and the uncleaned area (toward the front of the picture). 2 - A few weeks prior to getting the Big Green, I cleaned my upstairs carpets with a Hoover Spin Scrub PressurePro Max Extract 60. In the photo with the loft rails in the background, you can see a line down the middle after cleaning half with the Big Green (left side uncleaned, right side cleaned). 3 – The four remaining photos consist of two sets of before and after pictures of old pet stains. The pet stains were several years old with multiple attempts to remove with a variety of cleaners over the years. The results were AWESOME! OTHER ODDS AND ENDS: 1. The buckets are clearly marked as to how to put them back in the machine. You can’t do it wrong (if it were possible, I would have done it) 2. The machine did well on my carved area rug. It’s a good, heavy rug – not sure I would use it on a light rug 3. No leaking!! Even when tipping it to remove debris from the brush roll (this is a problem I’ve had with almost every other cleaner I’ve owned) 4. Suctions up the water nicely for quick drying. My area rug seemed to hold moisture more than my wall to wall carpet and took longer to dry, but the pad under the rug was dry. 5. The cap on the clean water tank serves as a measuring cup for the shampoo, which is very convenient. 6. 5 year warranty 7. Easy to pull out the brush roll and clean behind it 8. Easy to empty dirty water tank and clean it (other carpet cleaners have a hole to dump the water through so it’s difficult to rinse out the tank and remove all of the sediment that accumulates) 9. The tanks are a milky color – I would prefer they be more transparent so that you can see where the water levels are and see the dirty water being suctioned up. 10. The machine is a bit clunky to maneuver to do another pass, but with practice it gets easier. Likewise, it’s awkward to get smaller areas. 11. One of the biggest points in negative reviews was water gushing out of the flow indicator and the location of authorized Bissell repair facilities. Before purchasing this machine, I located an authorized Bissell repair facility from the Bissell website and called the facility to ensure they were still in business and are still authorized to perform warranty services. I’m bringing this up because it is a large purchase and the machine is way too big and bulky to send it somewhere for repair. I’m not sure if the flow indicator is covered under the warranty, but replacing it is relatively inexpensive and I’m confident I have somewhere close to repair it. There are also UTUBE videos on how to replace it. In summary, I WAS AMAZED at what this machine picked up and am 100% satisfied with the purchase. If I encounter issues upon future uses, I will update this review. P.S. If you found this review helpful, please indicate. THANKS!

> 3 dayThis machine saved my carpet. It cleans far better and dries far quicker than the Rug Doctor which I tried first. We have a condo rental unit and a fully carpeted home, so for us, a good machine is worth having. We havent shampooed our carpets in several years, so they were in bad shape. Bad enough that we were planning to soon replace our great room carpet. A few weeks ago I narrowed the search down to a Rug Doctor and the Bissell Big Green. An app on my phone pointed me to Kohls for the Big Green, but all they had was the Rug Doctor, on a pretty good sale. So I thought, why not, Ill give it a try. Took it home, cleaned the great room rug pulling disgusting water up and it looked pretty good. But the carpet was very wet and took all weekend to dry. The manual said it should pick up 70-80% of the soapy water, but no way it was more than 50%. I utilized the bucket used to fill the machine to measure the dirty water coming out. By the time, it dried, the stains had wicked through from below leaving it dingy again. The matted high traffic parts were still matted. Disappointed, I returned it, and turned to Amazon for Big Green. A few short DAYS later, it shows up and I got to work. AMAZING RESULTS! The carpet is noticeably brighter (a white carpet), the matted parts are re-fluffed, and to top it off, was dry before I finished the two couches and lower half of the stairs. The water was far dirtier, darker, and sandier than what the Rug Doctor pulled up, and it had first crack. I waited several days to write a review to see if stains would re-appear. NOPE! Moving on, the couch tool didnt look like much, so I wasnt expecting a lot, but with the Bissell soap, the couch went from an oily and matted down microfiber suede, to normal dry looking fabric with the texture restored. (It is still a 10 year old couch, so some of the texture is missing from when new, but it breathed new life into these old couches. The main machine doesnt get extremely close to the wall, and we had some black lines along the baseboard from walls that breathe letting the carpet act like a filter along the baseboards turning it black. Well, using their soap, the upholstery attachment and a separate scrub brush, the carpet is white along the baseboards too. The strong suction of big green pulled the soap out nicely leaving the baseboard sections to dry quickly as well (though not dry as fast as the rest of the carpet.) In the end, we are not going to replace the carpet for a while now, and I thought it was overdue to replace. This machine, despite the steep price, already paid for itself saving this carpet. This machine is built tough. Thick plastic parts, large clips, strong motors. Having 2 removable tanks is easier than toting an open bucket to the machine like the Doctor. This is easier, fill at the sink, dump at the toilet. Folds up nicely to store, get a tote bag for the hose, and it will store nicely too. The warm air exhaust has a diffuser to hit the carpet evenly to aid drying, not just an open hose like on the Doctor. I see the upholstery attachment as something that could break with any misuse, so I would be careful with it, but this might be an excuse to pick up the brush attachment that reviews poorly with the smaller Bissells but very well when used with Big Green. Where it attaches could particularly be a weak point, pointing to the soap hose connection. On the plus side, if youve had any other smaller Bissells, those attachments might fit this too. The drawback is it didnt get the toughened design treatment the rest of this beast got. I picked up an extra belt seeing that as a wear item, like on any other vacuum. Plan on finding a medium bristle scrub brush to help along the baseboards where the machine cant reach. (If they designed it to reach there too, there would likely be a few compromises from where this thing shines and not worth the trade off) Ive heard Bissell is weak on Customer Service, so if it breaks under warranty, Ill probably just find parts on Ebay which seem readily available there. It seems built such that I doubt Ill need that help. This is a great machine! Hope this helps. Update, after 7 years it’s still running strong. I typically do a rinse after shampooing the carpet and then run the water until it stops spraying when finished. So far, no problems. Maybe the rinsing and draining is preventing some of the flow meter and other issues I see in other reviews?

> 3 dayI’ve wanted this carpet cleaner for a some time, but didn’t want to spend the money. Well we finally gave in and bought it. My only mistake less NOT purchasing this years ago. I cleaned half the carpets in the house yesterday and they look and feel so soft and clean. I will finish the rest of the house today. The machine is quite heavy, but I like that and it does not deter me. The suction power is an A++ and they took no time to dry. Sincerely, A Happy Customer

> 3 dayI bought this to replace my aging Rug Doctor Mighty Pro that was having performance issues due to its age (10 years old). I was hesitant because I did not have a high opinion of Bissell products because the few that I had in the past were small and cheap and did not perform very well. The Rug Doctor I had was a workhorse and I wanted something similar. The problem was the Rug Doctors pricing has gone up substantially, which caused me to look at different products. Im glad I did. I came across this product and the first thing I noticed was its appearance, which is very similar to my Rug Doctor. So I started looking into it and found a video where they did a side by side comparison with a Rug Doctor and this thing outperformed it slightly. Considering its price, I thought that was great and so I bought it. So far I have no regrets. The clean water container is smaller than the Rug Doctor (1.75 gal vs 2.5 gal) but it allows you to remove the container and fill it in the sink. This does save time from filling up one gallon containers and dumping the clean water into the Rug Doctor. Overall, the time saved by simply sitting the clean water container in the sink and letting it fill up on its own does offset the time spent filling up the clean water container more frequently due to its smaller size. As for suction, I was very impressed the first time I ran out of clean water and opened the dirty water tank to find it completely full, indicating it sucks up almost everything it injects into the carpet (this was the biggest issue I was having with my Rug Doctor as it got older). I also love the fact that it has a clean water flow indicator. This was one of the most frustrating things about the Rug Doctor because I would sometimes run out of clean water and not know it. This product has a flow spinner that lets you know when clean water is flowing. Once that stops spinning, you know youre out of water. Overall Im very happy with the product. Its had no trouble removing routine stains from pets and walking on my carpets. It allows you to go front and back while injecting the clean water and using the scrubbers (it only sucks up the water when you pull backwards, like the Rug Doctor) which is a nice added feature in case you want to have clean water injected twice before sucking it out. I havent tried the hand held spot cleaning device yet but so far everything else has worked perfectly and it only took a couple of minutes to set up once it arrived. For the price, I have no regrets whatsoever.

> 3 dayIve had these carpets for 17 years, but they are not in bad shape. Cats and children have taken their toll, but theyre still holding up. I have a Dyson Animal vacuum which removes large amounts of cat hair and my girls might lose more hair than the cats given how often I have to cut it out of the beater bar of the vacuum. A few points of note for this review. Ive only had the unit for one day and can not speak to the durability of the unit, but I can say that it feels solid and does a tremendous job cleaning carpets. Im also upgrading from a cheap carpet shampooer which now falls into the toy category. I started off by thoroughly vacuuming the carpets with the Dyson vacuum, removing bits of fuzz, cat hair, stuff like that. Then I loaded up the machine with hot water and the contents of one of the provided bottles, and went to town. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of maneuvering the machine, but I definitely got into a rhythm. It was hard to keep it slow as I wanted to see the results, but I was patient and kept going until the flow meter stopped spinning and I was out of water. I dumped the dirty water bin slowly into the toilet and I swear to God it looked like used motor oil coming out of there. These were carpets which were vacuumed weekly and shampooed a few times a year. Motor. Oil. Clumps of cat hair which must have been woven into the carpet fibers and held in too tightly for the Dyson poured out with the water. I ran out of time last night and was unable to test the hose attachment. This is needed for areas along the edges of the room since the shampooer cant reach that far. Pros: * Cleans very well * Its a good workout * The transformation is mesmerizing * Its heavy, so it is able to clean deeply by pressing on the carpet * Youll strike oil, right in your own living room! * Gave my carpets a few more years of life * The rooms smell better, but that might be the fragrance of the shampoo * It came with three small bottles of cleaner to get you started Cons: * $$$$, although cheaper than professional service in the long run * You will realize how disgusting carpet can be and consider replacing it with laminate, LVP, or hardwood * Its heavy, and cumbersome to carry up stairs * Supposedly the flow meters crack, but they are not expensive and are easy to replace * Why was there motor oil trapped in my carpet? * Its big and bulky, so storage can be tough even though the unit folds up

> 3 dayWhen we moved into our apartment five years ago, the carpet was brand new. However, between several cats missing the litter box and leaving hairball presents, and a husband who is so accident prone he practically needs a sippy cup, it had gotten so bad that walking around inside made the soles of my feet disgustingly black. I bought a Bissell Spot Bot several years ago to try to curb the problem, but, as the name suggests, its not enough to care for larger areas. Every weekend I would debate renting out a Rug Doctor machine, but at this point the whole apartment needs refreshed and I didnt want to hassle with renting and returning a machine every weekend for the next two months. Instead, I invested into this behemoth, and (at least so far) Im very glad I did. Its very easy to use, easy to clean out, and easy to refill again. It also came with 4 sample bottles of their Professional cleaning formula. One tank full of water uses less than one of those small sample bottles, so your first 4-5 tanks are basically free. The tank is large enough that I can make several soaking, deep-cleaning sweeps over about half of a 10x10 room. A casual refresh of the carpet probably wouldnt even use a full tank. I can clean and refill the machine in about ten minutes, so getting an entire room done doesnt take long at all. Longest part of the whole process has actually been moving furniture around! Photos show one room before and after cleaning, including a section with sticky soda spots, and a section that had a dark gray patch of dirty foot traffic. The suction is great. Making a few suction-only sweeps over a freshly cleaned area leaves the carpet dry enough that its totally air-dried after just a couple of hours. After the carpet has dried, Ill do a quick run over it with the vacuum to fluff up the fibers, and the carpet feels brand new again. It is a relatively heavy machine, and because of the length of the handle its not very useful for right spaces. If youre older or have back/shoulder issues it can be very difficult to use the machine. If youre a couch potato like I am, prepare yourself for a decent workout. It also dont clean flush into corners, so be prepared to get on your hands and knees with the house attachment to scrub at the 1-2 margin along the walls, if those are in need of being cleaned. Be careful not to overspray with the hose onto latex paint, as the cleaner will cause it to bubble and peel. If you have pet urine stains I highly recommend pre-existing treating with Natures Miracle, especially if its soaked through to the foam layer. Between what well save on our security deposit, and what we would have spent in renting a machine, this purchase has already paid for itself about three times over. Ive read some concerning things about the longevity of this machine. After six tanks over three sessions its still like new. Ive bought Bissell products for decades because theyve been sturdy, reliable, and performed well, and its it hope that this machine will do the same, but only time will tell.

> 3 dayThis machine is amazing, the answer to my clean carpet dreams! We have 3 German Shepherds and a Carolina dog in an almost 4,000 sq ft home where the entire upstairs is carpeted. I’m pretty OCD about cleanliness and every since we built this home 2 years ago I’ve been in a constant battle with all this carpet. I’ve been using the Bissell Pro Heat Revolution but was in desperate need for something with more cleaning power. After reading reviews, I decided to make the investment…and I am so thrilled that I did!! Yes this machine is big and heavy, but its a fair trade off for what you get in return. No more going over stains or puppy urine spots 4 and 5 times, this bad boy does the job the first time around. I still pre-treat tougher stains but I haven’t had one yet that this shampooer hasn’t worked on. Best investment I’ve made in a long time!!!

Greater than one weekHave danced around purchasing one of these units for several years/ carpet shampooers finely bit the bullet and i should have done it two shampooers ago. Easy to assemble, easy to clean afterwards and does a fantastic job at cleaning. The only negative is its weight but that is also a positive as the weight helps keep keep the suction on the carpet were you get to suck up all the dirty water! Do not hesitate its worth the extra money and it was delivered ahead of schedule seems like the first time in a long time something arrived ahead or even on time for delivery
