This is not for novice repair-people. I had never replaced a screen before and it took me almost 2 hours but if you have the patience and time the screen and home button works perfect. However, my screen was shattered, this process would be WAY easier for a screen with just a few cracks. I looked up a YouTube video for directions. I had to use a razor blade and a hair dryer or heat gun. I agree with previous posts the adhesive is not strong enough to hold but my iPad is always in a case so that helps it stick together and I don’t even notice. I have another iPad that has a cracked screen that I plan on doing this for and will buy the same screen.

I have been repairing iPads for many years now and this digitizer was the worst Ive ever come across. I know nothing is as good as the original but when there are multiple issues thats just bad product. 1. Half the touch screen does not work at all. 2. Adhesive will not hold. (And yes I cleaned all old adhesive off and made sure surface was spotless) 3. Button did not work. (Just clicking it did nothing I know after market button figure print wont work) They are sending me another one to try I will update when I get it. 2/1/2020 - update. Got replacement screen installed it with little problems (first screen came up with little effort cause glue never would stick). Only issue was home button still would not work, so I spent very long, tedious hour removing my orginal home button from smashed screen (getting all the little tiny glass shards off is no fun) and replaced their button with mine and all is happy. No dead areas, sensitive is good and pencil works great with it. Glue is still not greatest but I have a case that wraps the edges so I dont have too much issue with it. So I guess its a hit or miss if u get a good screen or a bad one with this one. BUT amazon did me right sent me a new one right away no problem.

Do not buy ! Not worth it has deadzones !

Just barely installed this ran into the same problem with the adhesive and the next door my screw stopped working even after I double and triple checked everything was still connected correctly. The screen was working the first day I put it on

Spent at least 3 hours trying to take off and put back on to make sure everything was connected right. The touch screen has dead spots and is completely unresponsive at times.

front glass came already cracked but its cracked less than my old one was so whatever I guess

Quite the learning experience. Unfortunately the original control button failed and had to use the replacement. Tried to use the virtual control screen button but still have issues with the functionality.
