IS Quickbook compatible with Peachtree software? I cannot afford the price on peachtree. I just bought a new computer & try to transfer my peachtree program over & it wont allow me. It was a old version of peachtree which Microsoft 10 cant accept it.

I gave a one star rating to get your attention. Its two stars at best, and I simply dislike it. As of 05/02/2015 I purchased the latest version of the Avanquest Bookkeeper Software. I was quite disappointed. Be forewarned that: 1. This program has severe limitations in templates 2. Output options for printed documents also deeply limited 3. Graphics options for personalization is extremely limited; probably because they want you to buy logo software program they also sell 4. Workflow has a printing glitch; printing is delayed by a make selection screen that halts your workflow, then sort of reboots before giving a final printing option. This is very, very annoying as youll see. 5. THIS PROGRAM IS NOT INTUITIVE NOR USER FRIENDLY. It may have a simple user interface, but the LEARNING CURVE IS STEEP due to poor design. 6. You will have two Help options for this program other than customer support (see below). The first is the Help Topics sub-program, which is entirely minimal and inflexible. It is useless. You will learn this program by trial-and-error. The second is the FAQ online option at www.avanquest.com. The Help menus here are more extensive and informative, but frustrating in the event you arent familiar with the program to begin with (pick your poison!). 7. Do no expect discount options on future upgrades. Besides, you wont want one. **8. Above all else, be warned: there are no free customer support nor direct contact options other than by e-mail. Tech Support costs $10.00 - $20.00 out of the box, AND you will definitely need Tech Support. This accounts for the programs low initial cost, [and] even though theyre taking your money again, be prepared to hurry up and wait. One caveat: www.http://accounting-software-review.toptenreviews.com/small-business/bookkeeper-review.html reviews many buying options BUT will not warn you about serious program flaws. It also has fake vendor links which redirect to companies like “Herman Street” which sell obsolete software at inflated prices lacking serial nos. and purchase documentation. Read as much as you can elsewhere and buy carefully (i.e., Amazon) Final word: I use Intuit for its merchant services, with which I am quite pleased. I bought Bookkeeper out of desperation and was somewhat prepared for it to be a throw-away or tax.write-off. It has succeeded. Based on reviews Ive read, and my personal experience with Intuit as a vendor, I strongly urge you to make the Intuit purchase. There are cloud and one-time ownership purchase options if you desire. Unless you have an accounting background, YOU MUST audition these programs first, because Intuit particularly, is very complex and will almost certainly require assistance with installing even the trial version (especially if you have no pre-existing software from which to import your data). ~~~~~~~ 5/7/2015 UPDATE: I contacted Avanquest two months after my purchase. This is their response: Thank you for contacting Avanquest Technical Support. We apologize for the inconvenience. BookKeeper version 11 is a discontinued version that we no longer support. We will not be able to help you. I have requested an up-to-date replacement, but was denied.

Okay. Im not one to bash any product, because I know products work differently for each individual. However, my experience has been so horrific that I feel inclined to share. I am a small business owner since 2005. I started using bookkeeper since the start of my company. Each year Ive endured lagging tax table updates, worse yet lagging tax forms being released which resulted in late W2s being sent out one year, and problematic updates. I stopped updating the software in 2009 because when I upgraded the software I had problems updating my database. It took technical support two weeks before they fixed the problem and meanwhile I was handwriting employee checks (I know....embarassing). I did, however, continue to update my tax tables and because they did not solve the tax form issues so close to the deadline, purchased separate software to process W2s. Updating to 2011 was the WORST experience. It took me 3 calls and I was put on hold at a minimum of 30 minutes each. Roughly an hour and a half. Because Avanquest couldnt solve the updating database issue (AGAIN!), I was transferred to Nova Development. I was put in a queue of 11 (not bad) an hour and 45 minutes later...some dips--t picks up the phone and hangs up. I was unable to breathe, I was so furious. Well when Avanquest transferred me to them, they failed to give me NDs number. So I had another 30 minutes on hold with Avanquest, explained my situation, asked to be directed to a supervisor at ND so I wouldnt have to hold, was IGNORED and put in a queue of 19!!! 45 minutes later, in tears, I broke and called my dad who thankfully has a pretty strong grasp of computers. If you are updating your software follow carefully (1) first back up your database and email to yourself (2) wipe bookkeeper completely off your computer (3) download the newer software and install the tax tables (4) finish updating (because it downloads to a newer software version within 2011) the program. When everything is updated, (5) save your database to your desktop (6) open bookkeeper and restore your database. Then make another update with the upgraded database. In summary, THREE hours and FORTY-FIVE minutes of panic and neither Avanquest or Nova solved my issue. As a small business owner, I cant bill out the lost time and NEXT year....Im investing in quickbooks. GOOD LUCK if you do buy it or if you are not having issues (they will come).

Hard to follow and make sure transactions were posting accurately. I can do better manually with a general ledger and sub-ledgers. Obviously my business is small. If I go bigger Ill put more effort into making this work.

Just started, learning my way around seemed pretty straight forward, has help files built in. Its not complicated so most users should get around easily. Tech support is very alert.
