    Had an older MacBook Pro that needed to be dusted off, wiped clean and reinstalled. The disc did start up but on multiple attempts never got the job done. Even after following the instructions and in frustration taking the computer into the Apple Store to see if the Genius Bar could make it work I was told that the disc would never work. I guess this is one of those life lessons… you get what you pay for. I played it cheap and got a cheap trick

    So a few days ago I decided to purchase this item in hopes I could not only upgrade iMac but also get it out of recovery mode, we’ll as soon as I got it I opened it and it contained a paper with instructions and a disc, the disk was in perfect condition no scratches nothing so I put it into my iMac and when I load up the starting disk all that pops up is my hardrive and a disk that reads ‘Mac OS Base System’ when I load that disk all it does is freeze my Mac no installation disk was on the DVD at all or it was corrupt, am hoping that the replacement I get is better because I hate writing bad reviews I just wanna use my computer again to it’s full potential but have to wait now, I will change my review if the replacement works but until then 2 stars.

    I was tasked with bringing a defunct MacBook back to life and this DVD worked perfectly. The NVRAM method was not working. This installed out of the gate and then we were back in business in no time.

    literally nothing on disc. will not read in any computer it is put into. do not buy.

    Product arrived with giant scratch, looks like hair but is not. Scratch was present before it was even in the packaged in the sleeve, clearly poor quality control. DVD wont even read. Why does this always happen to me.

PLASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A COMPATIBLE DVD DRIVE FOR THIS DISC IS DOBLE LAYER IF YOUR NOT SURE PLEASE BUY THE USB VERSION JUST SEARCH ON AMAZON FOR : Tech Shop pro el capitan . DVD DL, Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan Full OS Install Reinstall Recovery Upgrade These DVDs are NOT original. Installing or upgrading your software from a DVD is NOT a quick process and can take 45-60 minutes to complete. IF, you are getting an error message saying: "The Install OS X Application can"t be from this disk. Copy this application to a writable Mac OS Extended formatted disk and reopen it to continue installation ." please do the following steps: Step 1. Insert the dvd into the mac. Step 2. power on your mac holding Command+R to go into the Recovery mode. Step 3: Disconnect your mac from Internet. If you are using wireless go to the right corner of your screen, click on the wireless icon and choose Turn OFF WiFi. Step 4.. Open a Terminal window (Command +N) or go to Utilities/Terminal and type: date 0109200016. Hit Return (Enter) key. Close the Terminal window and click to Reinstall macOS. Step 5. If you still have the error message then reset PRMA/NVRAM: Power off your Mac. Press your Mac"s power button and then hold these four keys at the same time: ⌘ + option + P + R. Continue holding the keys until your Mac restarts for the second time. On older Macs, the chime will sound upon restart. Important: During the installation DISCONNECT your Mac machine from Internet. This is the simplest install / upgrade method and the one that you should follow in case you are not sure which is the best option for you. What you see in the pictures is what you will receive!
