This device is awesome. Right off the bat, this keypad astounded me by its firm construction. The four rubber feet are firm but keep the board in one place. It won’t slide around. Next, I was surprised by the accessories that came with this! It came installed with the Copy and Paste keycaps, but it also came with (2) white versions and (2) blank keys. I like these blank ones, since I have changed the function for now to be extra media keys for my laptop. Moving on to the software, I was impressed by the level of customization this keyboard boasts. Essentially, any function can be programmed to each of the (2) keys. They can perform a keyboard shortcut, press a media key, move the mouse, paste a pre-input phrase, open the calculator, and so much more! Meanwhile, the RGB backlights can be programmed to flash, fade, and blink when the buttons are pushed or released, or just when Caps or Num Lock is on! The best part for me is that all the settings can be saved into the device. After this, the keypad is plug n’ play on any laptop to continue optimizing workflow! Bonus tip: The key switches themselves can be pulled out from the board. This way, you can change them out for other kinds of Cherry MX switches. The ones that ship with this are smooth through the entire travel and do not click.

Let me start by saying I have been involved with graphic design on the mac for over 30 years, as far back as when we were designing color documents on monotone grey screens on those Bloom County Macintoshes. So this review is strictly Apple Mac-centric. I saw this product and ordered it on a lark because although I have never really had an issue accessing Command-C and Command-V, in design, illustrating, and photo editing work, you do a lot of copying and pasting. A lot. I wasnt so concerned whether this product will work with text editors (it does) but if it would work with the Adobe Creative graphic programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Fireworks... (it does). BUT, it is not Mac native and requires quite a bit of technical knowledge that most GDs, ADs, and writers probably do not have. Okay, the first surprise is that when you open the package, the whole thing is unassembled. You get the base unit, USB cable, 6 key caps, a key cap puller, and a sheet of instructions about half the size of your cel phone (see pictures). The instructions are not step-by-step and do not tell you what to do. So, I figured out that you need to attach the key caps to the base unit, however you like, I chose a black copy button and a white paste button, left and right. Then you plug the base unit into the USB cable and then plug the other end of the cable into the Mac. The mac will tell you that the keyboard is not recognized. This is where it starts getting technical. Dont try and recognize the keyboard, it wont work. Click cancel. On one side of the instruction sheet are QR codes. Use the QR code marked SOFTWARE which will lead you to a website where you can download a zip file called setting Expand setting and look for the document called notes for mac or linux.txt In that file you will find the instructions for how to configure this product for the mac. I provided a picture of those instructions. If you do not understand the picture, forget it, you will not be able to figure this product for the mac. Because you have to open up Terminal which is in the Utilities folder of the Applications folder. Terminal is a command-line interface, so if you have no experience using command line instructions, forget it, dont buy this product. The first instruction tells you to us the cd command to change the directory. If you do not know how to use the cd command to change the directory on your specific local system, then forget it, dont buy this product. If you continue, the rest of the instructions work fine, except at the end end when you have to go to the SayoDevice website (again with barely any instructions). Then at the website, you can assign the keys to the product. Turns out you can configure the keys into any configuration that is accessible by keyboard, but to get the command key you have to choose the Left GUI (win) which is the instruction for the Command key. So you set up the keys the way you want, click the button to save the instructions to the unit, which it does, and then the keyboard will work. Once it is configured it works very well and flawlessly. But if I hadnt started my undergrad education as a computer science major, I would have never figured out how to configure this thing for the mac, with the instructions written by a non-native English speaker Engineer and not a technical writer. Anyway, I used the product to edit some text and a photo in sphotoshop. It works without issue. In fact, I may change the paste button to Command-A which is Select All in adobe products since I know how to configure this thing now. But for the love of Pete, if you have never used Terminal on the Mac, do not buy this product.

Positives ----------- Deceptively simple device. It can be used as a Copy/Paste mini keyboard and for many that will be sufficient. Although, that works fine, its very useful or at least novel to use as an augment to gaming. For example, when playing World of Warcraft, I have key bound the buffs/spells I most use and/or forget to use. This has helped me pwn noobs even better. I love that it comes with white and black key caps as well as two blank ones. It also comes with a decent key removal tool. The build quality is top-notch, and it does not slide around on your desk due to the quality grips on the bottom. I havent found a way to modify the RGB or turn it off but its not obtrusive to me, so I wont count that against it. I am not a keyboard expert, but the clicky-ness is of a good quality and doesnt seemt to be one that grow tiresome overtime. Its a great little device, especially if you want to use it for other things that simply copy/pasting. Although, it is just fine for that as well. Negatives ---------- Maybe a switch to turn off the RGB lights. Again, this does not bother me so I am not taking off a star, but I am sure some people may appreciate it. If I am to be nitpicky, I wish it was USB-C and not micro-usb powered. Otherwise, no complaints. Overall ----------- This is more than a simple novelty item, but it does still fall into that category to me. If you have a few bucks to spare and want a cool way to keybind a few spells/moves/windows operations, then it can be very useful. It is useful as-is as well. It is always much more fun to slap copy then slap paste than to ctrl+c and ctrl+v like some sort of computer power user (Im joking, either way is fine!) - This is simply a FUN device of great quality that can be used for much more than simply copying and pasting with a bit of tech know how.

This little guy is super nifty. Feels line it has some sort of linear switch inside (Cherry MX Reds?). I like my mechanical keyboards, and this feels pretty good. Ive honestly considered unplugging it and using it as some sort of fidget device....click...click...click.... Functionality: Works just like it says. Plug and play, it does copy paste. Im using it on a locked down work computer, so I havent been able to test out the customazation software yet. No reason to doubt their software, but Im sure other 3rd party programs could do the same thing. Its a keyboard - it can be programed. It also comes with blank keycaps, in addition to the Copy/Paste ones. Youd probably use these if you did go the programming route. The swithces themselves are advertised as hot-swappable...and I believe it. In attempting to remove the key caps (After inadvertantly installing them upside down), I also pulled out the switches. I dont have others to test with, but its a keyboard - if you have switches, it should work. Also, it does use a mini-USB cable. I wish it was USB-C, as most of my devices now are, but not a big deal as it comes with its own cable. Not like ill need to be hot-swapping this around too much.

For the techie people, this might seem ridiculous to have separate keys just for a shortcut, but this makes transferring information a smoother operation and easier on the hand. Whats good: -keys operate without any clicking -two independent RGB lights -can operate without software -comes with different colored copy/paste keys, blank keys, and a key puller Improvements: -edge isnt completely smooth. board seems to stick out farther than the other pieces. -push cost down to 15 and below for value.

This copy paste keyboard has saved me so much time. It is a very useful tool! Fantastic value and well made. The RGB is an added bonus that adds cool to this tool. The keyboard has a nice bottom that doesn’t slide. I purchased 2 one for home and one for the office.

I thoght it would help me bc I do a lot of copy and paste so I got this and I took it out and plugged it into my Mac and tested it dosent work then I download software from whatever the heck is sayodevice? When I downloaded it I tried opening it then it gives me an error message cannot open bc apple cant verify it from malware bruh that means I could get hacked??? uh no thank apple for not letting me open whatever the heck the software. Do not buy and do not tell anyone to buy unless you want your money wasted and you might get hacked. Worst product ever. thats why I slammed it against my couch. so now it is dead for sure.

It would have been awesome if it had worked. I tried to download the app on the PC all that loaded was gibberish. That freaked me out so I deleted all the files. I really wanted it for my mac, and it looked like it was going to work, but only the paste button worked. The copy button would not work. Maybe I got a bad one, but I have downloaded hundreds of apps and software over the years and this one was not intuitive or simple. I cannot recommend this.
