> 24 hourI plug my Macbook into a Caldigit dock to power it on the sofa, and use it quite a bit that way; it tends to bend the cable too much perhaps, because every 3-4 months they will fail. But theyre great until then, and if youre not bending/flexing it continually l like me, it seems high quality. I get full TB3 at this length. My understanding is that this IS an active cable.

> 24 hourI bought the 2 meter cable for my thinkpad thunderbolt 3 dock because this meets the specifications lenovo states in the user manual. I bought it to replace the passive 1.5 meter cable that comes with the dock. It works great, but only works if I have the power cord plugged into the laptop. If the power cord is not plugged into the laptop, the caldigit cable will not work. Whereas the 1.5 meter passive cable that came with the dock does not require that. This is presumably something to do with the laptop hardware design/limitations, rather than some fault of this caldigit cable.

> 24 hourCabled worked intermittently for a few days then burned out completely. The screen would blink and go grey for about 1 second every few minutes. This was with a caldigit ts3+ and xps 15. Luckily my original fb3 cable thats like 8 inches still works great. I am pretty mad it broke so fast and wished it worked.

> 24 hourWorks great for me on my iMac and external Thunderbolt 3 Raid. Not seeing reduced speeds like some older reviews, but then again, many times the complaints can be improperly setup Raid issues.

> 24 hourBought this because the same brand 3 that came with my lenovo docking station about 2 years ago was not working. My monitor connected to the docking station would flick out and back on. Did not have the problem with this one. Seems to work well. Also connecting wireless mouse and wired keyboard through the docking station.
